As last year, the probabilities of the best cards in packs are openly displayed in FIFA 21. However, the chances of pulling a top card like Ronaldo have not improved.
The costs of top players in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team: Adding the best gold cards, icons, or special cards from FIFA 21 to your team is not that easy. The absolute top cards are incredibly expensive and therefore hardly affordable for most FUT players.
Although you can try to earn more coins with smart trading, collecting enough to actually buy Cristiano Ronaldo requires a lot of skill and patience.
For many players, packs are the alternative. However, it takes a lucky day to find a top card in a pack. We will show you the probabilities.
It remains unlikely to pull absolute top cards
Here are your chances: When you go to the individual packs in the FUT shop, you can see the probabilities for strong cards there. However, you quickly realize that the chances in this year’s FIFA are not better than last year.
Probabilities in Gold Pack
- In the standard Gold Pack, which costs 5,000 coins in the shop, the probability of pulling a player with a better rating than 83 is just 3.3 percent.
Probabilities in Premium Gold Pack
- In the slightly better Premium Gold Pack, which costs 7,500 coins, the chances are slightly better. Still, a Messi or Ronaldo is far away in such a pack. The chance of pulling an 84+ player is a meager 4.2 percent here.
It is therefore really unlikely to find a Ronaldo or even an icon card in the Gold Packs. And it is even unlikely to pull any valuable card with a rating of 84+.
For perspective: There are currently 142 cards with a rating above 84 in FIFA 21. And the chance of pulling one at all in a Premium Gold Pack is only 4.2 percent. If you also pull an 84-rated Roman Bürki, who is currently worth 2,100 coins (as of 08.10.2020), you can hardly call it a good return.
Are packs worth it? In general, it can be said that opening packs is a loss-making venture in most cases. The better packs, which come into play with the OTW event, are slightly more worthwhile. However, the chances of top cards remain low.
