FIFA 21 now rewards this with a POTM card – the first of the new season:
What is a POTM card? “POTM” stands for “Player of the Month”. There is one each month for different leagues, and Calvert-Lewin has secured the card for the Premier League.
The special card of Calvert-Lewin is 5 points better in overall rating than his standard card. You can get it through a special POTM SBC. But should you complete it?
Is Calvert-Lewin worth it in FIFA 21?
What do you need to do for the POTM card? To get the 84-rated card of Calvert-Lewin, you need to complete two partial SBCs. They are called “Top Form” and “Premier League”.
To complete it, you have to exchange teams that meet at least the following requirements:
Top Form:
- At least 1 Team of the Week player
- 83 team rating
- 75 team chemistry
Premier League
- At least 1 Premier League player
- 84 team rating
- 70 team chemistry
Is it worth it? The SBC is quite expensive. The special cards from the TOTW are generally quite pricey – although you might be able to take advantage of the TOTW gift that is available on Deadline Day.
In general, teams that reach an average rating of 83 and 84 are not easy to finance. For context: Our Bundesliga team for the start has an overall rating of 81 – but costs, depending on the market situation, between 20,000 and 40,000 coins.
On futbin, the SBC is currently estimated at a total of 60,000 coins based on player solutions (via futbin). This means that the POTM card is not suitable at all for cheap starter teams and players with few coins. It requires quite a bit of trading or a huge amount of luck in packs to gather the necessary coins and players.
Calvert-Lewin is therefore more expensive than players like Hakim Ziyech, Andrew Robertson, Riyad Mahrez, Harry Kane, or Thiago. He is good at shooting, speed, and physicality, but passing does not fare well. Overall, Calvert-Lewin has a decent card, but especially at the start of the game, his price might just be a bit too high in comparison.
