In FIFA 20, Patch 1.20 has been released. This introduces a new connection monitoring option in the game, but not for everyone. We have the patch notes for you.
When will the update be released? Today, on April 28, the patch has already been released for PC players. Console players will have to be patient as usual. For PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, the update is likely to be released in the coming days.
Patch Notes: What does the update bring?
What’s new: With the new Title Update 16, EA Sports brings a connection monitoring option during ongoing matches into the game. Players should be able to see precise information about their connection quality during an online match.
Which exact information will be visible is still not known.
Who receives the new feature? EA has announced that only a small part of the player base will initially be able to use the improved ping display. For most players, the practical function will initially be grayed out and thus not activatable.
This may upset some players, as connectivity issues are a major topic in FIFA 20, and just about every player will have already had their experiences with connection issues. And it seems that EA is also focused on the issue, as only in Title Update 13 did they introduce a long-overdue ping display.
These changes are also included in the patch: Aside from the new connection monitoring, the other innovations are rather unspectacular.
EA states that the following changes have been made:
- Updates to various kits and advertising boards
- The ticker with the lineup now shows the correct lineup
- In VOLTA, changes to your avatar are now displayed correctly
