In FIFA 20, the Chemistry Styles Shadow and Hunter were practically extinct for a long time. Now they are back – but extremely expensive.
That was the problem: In recent weeks, you simply found no Shadow and Hunter items on the transfer market. Both items primarily make players significantly faster. Accordingly, they were very popular.
However, the maximum price of 5000 coins was probably not attractive enough to even put Shadow and Hunter on the market. Instead, players preferred to use the Chemistry Styles on their own players. Until today.
FIFA 20 Raises Prices for Shadow and Hunter
This is how EA solved the problem: In fact, EA Sports has now offered a solution. However, the nature of the solution is quite remarkable: instead of introducing a way to obtain Shadow and Hunter in other ways like objectives, the maximum price was simply increased to a whopping 25,000 coins.
This is the situation now: The market is now full of Hunter and Shadow items. However, they are going for a lot of money. Just the Shadow currently fetches prices between 14,000 and 25,000 coins. The reddit user “gaurav1294” reports: “I woke up today and sold all the Shadows I sniped for 5,000 for 25,000 on the market. At that time, there were only 6 or 7 Shadows on the market. I had about 20 – and they all sold for the maximum price.”
The crazy thing: sometimes there are players on the market equipped with a Hunter or Shadow whose maximum price is only 10,000 coins. As a result, they are effectively worth less than the Chemistry Style they are wearing.

Since currently about 14,000 coins are needed for a Shadow, the Chemistry Style is worth more than many top players. Players like:
- Pjanic
- Thomas Müller
- Isco
- Angel di Maria
- Niklas Süle
Even Bayern’s Coutinho, one of the best Bundesliga players, can currently be had for about 14,000 coins. So you can spend more money on a Shadow or Hunter than, for example, for Coutinho.
A strange development that Ultimate Team is currently undergoing. And it’s not the only one in FIFA right now:
