FIFA 20 is the first title in the series to feature a season progress system. The first season ends this week. How did it go – and what comes next?
This is the season progress: The season progress works similarly to the Battle Pass in Fortnite. By completing various challenges, players were able to earn experience points and unlock rewards. The highest reward of Season 1 was the so-called story players Zaha, Tolisso, and Vazquez. Players can choose one of these three when they reach Level 30.
When does Season 1 end? Those who haven’t collected all rewards yet should hurry. The first season of FIFA 20 ends on Friday evening, November 8!
Did you get all the rewards?
This is how Season 1 went: With the end of the first season, it’s worth looking back. It can be noted that obtaining all the rewards from the season progress is not that easy. On reddit there are several posts on the topic of missing XP – and whether it’s still possible to achieve it in time. User “ibbyk1708” wonders if the story players are even obtainable.
The answer: Yes, you can get the story players during Season 1. There are also many players who already have over 100,000 XP and thus have collected all the rewards. However, it was not easy. The weekly goals in bronze, silver, and gold are each only available for two weeks and can be very difficult. Those who miss them have a lot to catch up on.
Events like Icon Swaps or Ultimate Scream brought challenges that also provided XP. However, if you missed several weekly goals, it becomes difficult to obtain the rewards. Especially the gold goals provided a lot of XP, which you ultimately need severely.
What’s next in FIFA 20 Season 2?
What players wish for: Since there is currently no official information from EA about Season 2, it is worth looking at the community’s wishes. One thing seems very likely: Season 2 will probably also feature 30 levels with various rewards such as badges, Choroes, and packs. How exactly this will look – the community is still undecided.
This especially concerns the story players. Will there be a new selection? This seems at least the most likely. An alternative suggestion from the community includes upgrades for the already existing story players. This could look like this according to user “moldylungs“:
Here, many users wish for a new selection. An interesting idea has also been proposed by user “RubioJones“. He speculates that Season 2 will simply be connected to Season 1 following the model of the Madden series. This would mean that players could continue to collect rewards – which would likely appeal to many players.
A problem with Season 1 was that latecomer players or those who only have limited time for FIFA couldn’t really catch up. The weekly goals were only available for a limited time. Some wish for the goals to remain available longer. However, this seems unlikely given the first season.
