In FIFA 20, Title Update 4 goes live. It includes a huge list of bug fixes. Above all, the Career Mode is in focus – the patch notes.
When will the update be available? The update is now available on PC. On PS4 and Xbox One, it will go live at a later date.
What issues does the update address? The update fixes a lot of problems and bugs. It particularly addresses the extensive issues in Career Mode. Thus, Title Update 4 represents the step that a large part of the FIFA players has been waiting for. Many issues in other modes are also targeted. We summarize the most important changes here.
Comprehensive Changes to Career Mode
What changes for Career Mode: The Career Mode will undergo a major overhaul. This was urgently needed because it was full of bugs that made playing difficult. EA is now addressing a lot of these issues, which shouldn’t occur anymore once you’ve installed the update. The most important ones are:
- The opposing teams sometimes played with weak lineups when it didn’t make sense.
- Champions League and Euro League sometimes simply did not occur. This fix only works for new save games, not for existing ones.
- Managers were fired despite achieving good results.
- Questions in press conferences sometimes didn’t make sense.
- Qualification for Champions League and Europa League encountered errors.
- Newly signed youth players demanded too much playing time.
In addition, many other bug fixes have been made that affect visual elements or transfers, for example. Whether all bugs have been eradicated is still uncertain at this point. However, the biggest criticisms from the community have been comprehensively addressed – now we can only hope that Career Mode will finally function fully.
Ultimate Team: Fitness Bug is a thing of the past
What changes for Ultimate Team: Comprehensive corrections have also been made in FUT. Many of them deal with visual elements. Others affect gameplay. Here are the most important:
- The fitness bug has been fixed.
- The weekly score in Division Rivals is now displayed correctly.
- The weekly score in Squad Battles is now displayed correctly.
- Incorrect reward displays have been corrected.
In addition, there are further corrections of display errors in Ultimate Team. Fixing the fitness bug has a direct impact on the game: Until now, fitness did not matter in many FUT modes. Even a player with 43 fitness had full stamina at the start of the game. From now on, it will again be essential to use fitness cards.
Further changes in the update – including Offside
What changes in gameplay: The update brings more changes to FIFA 20. These also affect the overall gameplay:
- The difficulty level “Legendary” will be harder.
- Skill moves have been adjusted. Among other things, the “Advanced Rainbow” has been upgraded to five stars. Additionally, the drag back will be slower when turning 180 degrees.
- Incorrect offside decisions should no longer be made.
- The input speed when passing or shooting has now improved.
- Overall responsiveness has been improved.
- Goalkeepers now act more realistically.
Additionally, many minor bugs that could occur have been fixed.
What changes in VOLTA: There were also some bugs in the Volta mode that have been fixed. These include:
- Recruitment errors after a game
- Stability issues
- Visual errors
Furthermore, additional bug fixes have been made in skill games, in kick-off mode, and in Pro Clubs. There were also general improvements regarding audio and visual aspects.
Comprehensive update: The update fixes an incredible number of bugs. The complete list can be viewed in the changelog at EA Sports. How the update will impact the game remains to be seen until it goes live on all platforms. The community is certainly excited and hopes that the comprehensive changes hit the right spots – without introducing new problems.
Overall, FIFA 20 seems to want to address important issues. This tackles several complaints from the community:
