The sought-after talent Erling Haaland has transferred to Borussia Dortmund. What does this mean for his FUT card in FIFA 20 and how strong is he already in Ultimate Team?
This transfer is about: BVB has announced that they have signed the Norwegian striker Erling Haaland (Håland) from RB Salzburg.
There, the 19-year-old has played since summer 2019 and has already scored 17 goals in 16 games.
How strong is Haaland in FIFA 20
These cards of Haaland are already available: At the start of FUT 20, the Norwegian began with an unremarkable silver card. Apart from the outstanding physical values, it does not have particularly interesting features, and only a few may have used him.
But quite quickly, he received his first upgrade in the first Team of the Week as well as another in TOTW 9. And since he also caused a stir in the Champions League, he received a Team-of-the-Group-Stage card.

What the transfer to BVB means for his card

So there could first be a new standard silver card in the BVB version. This would look like:
The Inform cards he earned for his good performances at RB Salzburg will not be available as BVB versions. Nor will his TOTGS card.
However, there will likely be an OTW card. These Ones-To-Watch cards appear during the summer and winter transfer periods and give top transfers special cards that become stronger as soon as the player makes it into a TOTW.
This means Haaland would get an OTW card that is as strong as his last Inform card:
How strong can Haaland become? If Haaland continues to score at Borussia Dortmund where he left off at RB Salzburg, then there could be several Inform cards to follow in FUT 20.
Additionally, the winter upgrades are still upcoming in the new year. There will be new standard cards and upgrades for special cards. These are for players who have particularly impressed in the first half of the season.
Haaland is a top candidate for this upgrade, and it would be unusual if he did not receive a winter upgrade. Thus, Haaland’s 82-rated Inform or potential OTW card could become a direct 84-rated card.
