In FIFA 20 the big Winter Refresh is coming. Numerous players will be improved and new Prime Icon Moments cards will enter the game. We will show you what to expect.
What exactly is the Winter Refresh? This event took place in each of the last FIFA editions. Players who have improved during the first half of the season will receive an upgrade in Ultimate Team as well.
EA has now announced that this year’s Winter Refresh will start tomorrow. In line with this, they have also released 50 professionals who will increase by at least 3 points.
All information about the Winter Refresh tomorrow evening
When does it start? There is no exact time yet. Such events usually start around 7 PM German time. So get ready for that time.
What will happen then? There is no detailed information yet. However, EA has posted a photo on Twitter that teases 4 major things:
- Prime Icon Moments cards – these will be new top icons
- the Winter Ones-to-Watch
- Possibly upgrades for Storyline players
- the Winter upgrades, the “Ratings Refresh”
The image shows 3 Prime Icon Moments cards. These already entered the game last year during the Winter Refresh. These are improved cards of current legends.
The card on the far right in the image is a new design, but could possibly indicate newly designed OTW cards. This would make sense, as more OTW cards were also added during last year’s Winter Refresh.
The card on the left in the image could hint at upgrades for the Storyline players. We can therefore also expect new cards there.
These players will receive upgrades
This is what EA shows: The developers will release a list of exactly 50 players who will receive an upgrade during the Winter Refresh. All of them will improve by at least 3 points. However, it is still unknown how much stronger they will actually become.
Surprisingly, the statement that only these 50 players will receive an upgrade sounds. This time it seems that only the players with the largest performance disparities are affected.
Which players are affected? You can find the complete list of affected players on the EA website. Here are some prominent names:
- Erling Haaland (Borussia Dortmund)
- Achraf Hakimi (Borussia Dortmund)
- Marcus Thuram (Borussia Mönchengladbach)
- László Bénes (Borussia Mönchengladbach)
- Denis Zakaria (Borussia Mönchengladbach)
- Timo Werner (RB Leipzig)
- Amine Harit (Schalke 04)
- Florian Niederlechner (FC Augsburg)
- Moussa Diaby (Bayer 04 Leverkusen)
This will also change: Players who have not yet been available in FIFA 20 will also be added. This includes, among others, Franck Ribéry. You can find the complete list of new players on the EA website.
