Do you want to outsmart your opponents in the Weekend League with FIFA 20? Then here you will find 5 effective skill moves to help you achieve that.
What kind of tricks are these? In FIFA 20, there is a whole bunch of tricks. The most difficult ones can only be performed by 5-star skillers. However, the most complicated tricks are not necessarily the best. Especially in the Weekend League, simple yet useful tricks can make the crucial difference to climb the ranks.
Here you will find 5 effective tricks that can give you a decisive advantage in a tight Weekend League match. With them, you can quickly maneuver around your opponents without having to memorize the entire list of skill moves.
Ball Roll
This is the Ball Roll: The Ball Roll is a very simple trick that requires only two stars. Every field player should be able to perform the roll. It consists of a simple movement that makes your player roll their foot over the ball and shift sideways.
It is perfect for getting past defenders and goalkeepers or positioning yourself for a new action. Although the roll is so simple, it is difficult to defend against. If you want to add some flair, you can attach a flick backward by pressing the right stick – but you need 5 stars for that. It looks like this:
How to perform the Ball Roll: When you are running straight with your player, hold the right stick up or down – depending on the direction you want to roll the ball.
McGeady Spin/Berba Spin
This is the McGeady/Berba Spin: The McGeady Spin and the Berba Spin are more or less the same trick. The Berba Spin is executed by players with 4 stars, while the McGeady variant is performed by 5-star skillers. The spin involves a quick change of direction by 90 degrees. It’s useful, for example, when you want to pull a winger into the center or create space in the middle.
How the Spin works: You flick the right stick first in the direction of movement and then in the direction you want to go. Then your player performs the spin.
Stopped Fake Shot
This is the Stopped Fake Shot: This move is a skill move in the strict sense, and you don’t need the right stick. Instead, you perform a fake shot (or a fake cross) while simultaneously stopping your player’s run. This makes your player stop abruptly. During a foot race, you can let an opponent run into thin air or surprise a lurking defender.
How the Trick works: When you are running, load a shot or cross and then fake it by pressing the X button (A for Xbox). At the same time, you let go of the left stick to stop the run. This creates the abrupt stop. You can combine this with L2 (LT) to add a little trick movement with the ball.
Drag Back
This is the Drag Back: The Drag Back was one of the most effective moves even in FIFA 19. It impresses with its simplicity but gives you plenty of space. Your player can change direction or let opponents run into thin air simply by pulling the ball back.
How the Trick works: For the Drag Back, you only need the R1 button (RB button) and the left stick. Hold R1 and pull the left stick first against the direction you’re running and then in the direction you want to go. Rotations in all directions are possible, as well as continuing movement forward, making you unpredictable.
Heel to Heel Flick
This is the Heel to Heel Flick: The “Heel to Heel” flick is also a simple trick that is executed quickly. You can keep the ball away from your opponent and gain a small speed advantage while running. However, you need players with at least four stars. Additionally, you should not chain the trick too often, as it becomes more error-prone with multiple successive executions.
How the Heel to Heel works: Simply flick the right stick once in and then against your direction of movement. Then your player executes the trick and ideally leaves your opponent standing alone.
