The German team shines at the U21 European Championship and rightfully reaches the semifinals. We show you how strong the shooting stars of the DFB juniors are in FIFA 19.
This is how the EM works: The U21 European Championship in Italy is a great stage to attract the attention of international clubs. Many of the German players are taking advantage of this.
Particularly relatively unknown players like Luca Waldschmidt, Marco Richter, and Alexander Nübel are surprising with excellent performances and delight not only the fans of the German team.
We have taken a closer look at the players of the U21 in FIFA 19.
The German talents in FIFA 19
These are the players we are looking at: Based on the starting lineup from the last match against Austria, we have taken a closer look at the players of the German U21.
Here you will find out how strong the players are in FIFA 19:
Alexander Nübel, 22 years, Schalke 04
This is how good the card is: Alexander Nübel has a silver card in FUT 19, which is probably of interest to very few FUT teams. Nevertheless, his stats are decent and hint at a big leap for FIFA 20.
Particularly his height of 1.93 and his 5-star weak foot could lay the foundation for a strong goalkeeper card in the coming years.
Potential in career: In career mode, Nübel has a rating of 71 and can climb to a rating of 80. Not a bad choice for the goalkeeper position.
Benjamin Henrichs, 22 years, AS Monaco
This is how good the card is: This card is already a gold card, but still relatively unremarkable. However, the card should have been interesting for many teams with German players at least at the start of FUT 19. However, there are now significantly better cards available.
Timo Baumgartl, 23 years, VfB Stuttgart
This is how good the card is: Timo Baumgartl’s card in FUT 19 is a normal gold card with a total rating of 76. This was certainly not bad for the start in FUT, but also nothing special. For FUT 20, we expect a rare gold card with a rating in the lower 80’s.
Potential in career: The player also does not become very strong in career mode. His potential caps off at a rating of 81. Other center-back talents are certainly more interesting.
Jonathan Tah, 23 years, Bayer Leverkusen
This is how good the cards are: Jonathan Tah is now an established Bundesliga professional and started the FUT year with a rating of 83. Quickly, several special cards were added, like his Europa League card. By the end of FUT 19, Tah even received a TOTS card with a strong rating of 91.
Potential in career: Even in career mode, Jonathan Tah is a good choice for the center-back position. Here he starts with a rating of 82 and can climb to a proud 87 points. What makes him additionally interesting is his strong physicality and good sprint speed.
Lukas Klostermann, 23 years, RB Leipzig
This is how good the card is: This rare gold card from Klostermann was not a bad choice for early Bundesliga teams in FUT 19. He has basically everything a right-back needs. The only thing that couldn’t keep up during the FUT year is his rating.
Potential in career: Lukas Klostermann can become a really strong full-back in career mode, who can be used on both sides. His rating of 78 at the start can reach a decent rating of 84.
Additionally, his height of 1.89, his speed, and physical stats are impressive. A clear recommendation!
Mahmoud Dahoud, 23 years, Borussia Dortmund
This is how good the cards are: Dahoud’s card in FUT 19 is unfortunately not as good as it could have been. His Champions League card has a solid overall rating of 80. Nevertheless, one can expect a better card for FUT 20, should EA take the performances of the U21 European Championship into account.
Potential in career: In career mode, Mahmoud Dahoud can become a strong midfielder. From his 79 overall rating, he can reach 85. That’s not bad, especially considering his 4-star weak foot and 4-star skill moves.
Maximilian Eggestein, 22 years, Werder Bremen
This is how good the cards are: Eggestein’s star rose last season at Werder Bremen. He had a fantastic season here and could after an upgrade in winter, also grab a TOTW card.
Recently, he even received a TOTS card with a very good 88 rating. This has fantastic stats and should be a reliable midfield engine for many FUT players.
Potential in career: With a decent rating of 80, the Bremen player starts in career mode and can be brought to a rating of 85. And besides his shot, Eggestein has generally good stats.
Florian Neuhaus, 22 years, Borussia Mönchengladbach
This is how good the card is: Rather unimpressive, the silver card of Florian Neuhaus comes in FUT 19. For FUT 20, an upgrade is urgently needed here. Unfortunately, the current card does not reflect what the player is capable of.
Potential in career: In career mode, however, this looks quite different. There you can bring Florian Neuhaus starting with a rating of 76 to a great 85. The stats are solid and leave little to be desired. Only his physical stats could be better, so Neuhaus should preferably be played as a central midfielder rather than a defensive midfielder.
Marco Richter, 21 years, FC Augsburg
This is how good the card is: Quite unremarkable, the silver card of Richter in FUT 19. EA Sports probably didn’t consider how good he could really be.
Potential in career: In the current FIFA 19 database, Richter starts with a rating of 70. However, EA expects the winger from FC Augsburg to rise to a rating of 79. His 4-star weak foot and high speed make him a dangerous winger.
Levin Öztunali, 23 years, FSV Mainz 05
This is how good the card is: Uwe Seeler’s grandson has a relatively uninteresting silver card for the right midfield in FUT 19. Perhaps one can hope for a better card for FUT 20.
Potential in career: Here, Öztunali starts like in FUT with an overall rating of 74. However, his potential allows for an increase in rating to 80 during the career. Nevertheless, Öztunali is not recommended for career mode, as the stats are generally just not good enough.
Luca Waldschmidt, 23 years, SC Freiburg
This is how good the card is: Unfortunately, Waldschmidt has not received a special card in FUT 19 this season. That’s a shame because, thus, he can only be played with his 69 silver card in FUT 19. Although this has decent speed and dribbling stats, it leaves much to be desired in shot stats.
For FIFA 20, however, we can expect a stronger card that should be more interesting for FUT players.
Potential in career: Luca Waldschmidt can be purchased at the beginning of career mode with a strong rating of 74 points. However, here, overall rating caps at 79. Nevertheless, Waldschmidt offers good shot, dribbling, and pace stats that can be quite dangerous.
Arne Maier, 20 years, Hertha BSC
This is how good the card is: Arne Maier’s card in FUT 19 is relatively inconspicuous, like many of the U21 stars’ cards, and is unlikely to be played. However, one can certainly hope for a better FUT card for FIFA 20.
Potential in career: Arne Maier hides a real talent even in FIFA 19. From his overall rating of 75, a really strong 87 can be achieved with some patience.
Maier impresses with strong stats in dribbling, passing, and physicality. Only his shooting is a bit weak, but that shouldn’t be too bad for a central midfielder.
