FIFA 19 Ultimate Team has launched and everyone is on the hunt for cheap teams. We present affordable starter teams that you can buy with few coins.
Not everyone wants to invest real money in FIFA or is a trading god and never has to worry about their account.
That’s why we have put together three starter squads for you, with which you can get a strong and competitive team cheaply. The prices are based on September 21st.
FUT 19: Cheap Starter Team for 10,000 Coins
The formation for the cheapest team on our list is the 4-3-3 (2). But you can quickly switch to your favorite formation in-game with the new dynamic tactics. This also applies to all the other following starter squads.
Here is a hybrid team made up mostly of German and French players:
Cost: You can get this team on PS4 for less than 10,000 coins, on Xbox you might have to spend 11,000-12,000 coins.
Defense: Stark and Akpoguma have solid pace and break the 1.90m mark, plus you have Baumann as a strong keeper. Max and Kaderabek both have over 80 pace and very strong crossing values.
Midfield: Particularly strong in this squad is the midfield. With Cyprien and Sanson, you have two absolute all-rounders, while the slightly taller Tousart provides support at the back. Together with the center-backs, you have complete aerial superiority.
Attack: Modeste is a burly, tall striker who isn’t too slow either. You can feed him well with crosses using your outside defenders. Coco on the left wing is quick, and Salibur comes with the feared combination of 4-star skills and weak foot.
FUT 19: Cheap Starter Team for 25,000 Coins
The second team initially starts in the once very popular 4-3-1-2 formation, which especially closes down the center and allows for quick play forward.
Cost: For this starter squad, you will need to pay around 22,000 coins on PS4, but almost 30,000 coins on Xbox.
Defense: With Smalling, the FIFA 17 favorite is present, who has lost pace, but is still a safe bet due to his height. Bartra and Shaw are a bit faster, while on the right, Vidal is a real speedster who also has 4-star skills and weak foot.
Midfield: The midfield consists of Thomas as the destroyer and Herrera as the box-to-box player. Trigueros plays the offensive part of the three, especially the 4-star skills and weak foot combination looks promising.
Attack: For players who prefer quick, agile players, this is the optimal low-budget attack. Boudebouz and Muriel come with 4/4 stars. Ben Yedder has 4-star skills and even 5 on his weak foot, making him two-footed. With this offense, you can quickly move forward and are unpredictable in attack.
FUT 19: Cheap Starter Team for 50,000 Coins
The third team starts with the 4-3-2-1 formation, which has often been seen in previous FIFA editions.
Cost: Available on PS4 for 50,000 coins, on Xbox it’s over 60,000 coins.
Defense: Fährmann is a familiar face from FIFA 18, as is Roussillon, who could be present in many Bundesliga starter teams with his ratings. Next to the small Nacho stands Tah for heading strength and Carvajal as a defensively strong right-back.
Midfield: With Tolisso and Witsel, you have two robust midfielders here who help defensively, allowing Thiago to take on the more offensive role.
Attack: Ribery may not be fast anymore, but his dribbling, passing, and skills are still outstanding. Gomez has been very popular over the last few years, not least because of his pace and the 4/4 combo. The two-footed Rigoni complements the nimble attack with 4-star skills.
General Tips for Your Starter Squads
Build it yourself! The most fun in Ultimate Team is building your own team. If you’re not creative, you can of course replicate our suggestions 1:1. However, it’s better to let yourself get inspired, swap out some players, or combine different squads. Everyone gets along well with different cards. You can find squad-builder tools at futbin or futhead.
Don’t focus too much on chemistry. Many FUT players – myself included – have the compulsion to get every player to 10 chemistry. However, at the beginning, it’s not too bad if a card only has 7 or 8 chemistry if the overall team is much better.
The Premier League is the most expensive. You might wonder why there are so few Premier League players in the starter squad suggestions. Quite simply: Many players from this league are brutally overpriced in FIFA, as it is the most popular. Following that are the Spanish LaLiga and Italian Serie A. The cheapest top leagues are the Bundesliga and Ligue 1.
