FIFA 19 Demo: Practice new skills and moves
Practice moves: To do well online in FUT, it is important to quickly internalize the strong skill moves and other key combinations. Even if the gameplay often changes after the demo, certain things can still be practiced well. These include:
- The new finishing, the Timed Finishing
- The new, old low-driven shot over the two front shoulder buttons
- Flicking the ball with the right stick
- Various ball control moves
- Try out all skill moves and perfect the effective ones
- The perfect formation and team tactics for you
Test game settings. You can also experiment with the control and camera settings and choose the best ones for you. Many players do not play with the standard camera but choose one where you can see more of the pitch like “Tele” or “Broadcast Tele”. Before Release: The Companion or Web App
The web app for FUT 19 was released on September 19. Even if you cannot play matches yet, you can already use the rest of Ultimate Team there. Here are the things you should definitely do if you want to earn coins before the official launch:
- Complete manager tasks
- Open starter packs and other reward sets you receive
- Sell or use the contents for squad building challenges
- Search the market for bargains for your starter team or SBCs
- Log in daily for web app bonuses
- Invest, we will get to that later
The manager tasks
Not only in the web or companion app, but also after release you should continue to complete the manager tasks. Often they are just small tasks that reward very little effort.
These not only include the one-time beginner tasks at the beginning, but also daily and weekly tasks. The beginner tasks should initially be prioritized as they promise strong rewards like sets or many coins.
The EA catalog offers great advantages
Very important at the beginning is also the catalog. You reach it in the menu by pressing the right stick. There are various categories of purchasable bonuses:
- Coin boosts: The extra coins are the most important. Activate these right at the start of FUT, starting with the highest boosts. You now earn more coins per match that you should spend on new players or investments.
- Loan players: The loan player cards are also useful. Buy all available and use the majority as early as possible to improve your starter team for a few matches. If you hold on to them too long, you will eventually have equivalent player cards and the loan players will become useless. Only game changers like legends or Cristiano Ronaldo can be saved for important matches.
- Transfer lists: While the team slots at the beginning are rather unimportant, all available transfer list extensions should be activated immediately. Especially if you want to get rid of all the bronze cards on the market, every additional space is worth its weight in gold – not to mention trading.
- Kits and balls: You should also buy these immediately. You actually receive them in FUT as objects and can sell them to earn more coins. Sometimes it makes sense to use quick sell if there are already a few copies on the transfer market.
Starter squads – One or two teams?
Everyone asks themselves at the beginning: What kind of team should I build at first? Cheap and then invest more coins? Or invest everything in the team?
There is no right answer. If you don’t enjoy trading or SBCs, you should invest everything in the team. On the other hand, it is advisable to play with “low budget” squads and actively increase your wealth.
There are two rules for starter teams
Whatever you decide, there are still two general tips for team building:
Play with two teams at the beginning instead of relying on fitness cards. In relation to your starter team, fitness cards are much too expensive; it is much more worthwhile to regenerate the players on the bench of the other team. Whether you then play with a strong and a cheap team or keep both balanced is up to you.
Choose the right league. Players from the Premier League, Serie A or La Liga are always more expensive. The Bundesliga could be cheaper, and even cheaper are leagues like Liga NOS or MLS. If you now also work with hybrid teams, strong teams are possible at very low prices.

The squad building challenges
Through SBCs, you can generate coins with a bit of effort and pack luck. However, not all squad building challenges are worth it at the beginning.
Which SBCs should I complete? You should definitely complete the basic SBCs as well as anything where you can get rid of your bronze and silver cards. Also, challenges that can only be solved with cheap gold players under 400 coins per card are often worthwhile.
Use online solutions: If you don’t want to experiment yourself, you can also refer to the SBC solutions from various sites like futbin or futhead. However, it is important that you do not buy the players one-to-one, as many will do this and the price will rise!
FUT 19 – The right game modes
The new Weekend League is the mode with the best rewards. However, since this usually does not start directly at release, we will initially leave it aside.
These modes offer the most: Instead, you should focus on Squad Battles and Division Rivals. Basically, the rule is to play as much as possible to earn coins through matches.
A good way is to alternate playing Division Rivals with your strong team and Squad Battles with your fitness team. Even if playing against the CPU is not fun for many, the rewards are too important at the beginning to leave Squad Battles aside.
Are drafts worth it? Many eSports players also start the new FUT season with drafts. However, this is very expensive and usually makes sense economically only if you buy many FIFA Points. The best time to play drafts is mid-October as player cards from packs generate the most profit there.
The behavior in the transfer market
The first rule at the beginning of FIFA 19 will be: Small fry counts too! Cards that you hastily sold at the end of FIFA 18 should now be offered on the transfer market.
In general: Everything that does not fit into your team or squad building challenges and is not worth much should be sold immediately!
For more expensive cards, it is somewhat different, as these do not reach their highest value right at release, but rather a little after.
Trading in FIFA 19
For many cards, it is the case that they are worth more about two weeks (FIFA 18: October 14) after release than shortly before or at the release date of FIFA 19. This is simply due to the fact that hardly anyone has coins at release. Once everyone starts playing like crazy, the prices of players rise.
Invest correctly: To invest properly, you should have already collected some coins at release through the web app. Now you have several options to invest your coins:
- Players with high ratings for SBCs, preferably from weaker leagues like Pepe, Ibrahimovic or Casillas rose extremely in FIFA 18.
- Strong players with low ratings become more expensive because many players want to include them in their starter teams. In FIFA 18, this was, for example, Anthony Martial.
- Players from TOTW 1 are usually worth significantly more a few weeks later as they were so rarely drawn at the beginning.
- Desirable cards for SBCs can be purchased very cheaply at the beginning. Which cards these are cannot of course be predicted exactly. However, Spanish players from the Bundesliga or Germans from the Premier League are often needed. You can also take a look at the league SBCs already.
Market value curve of expensive players: Below you can see the price development of Martial (above) and Pepe (below) over the entire FIFA 18 season. It is clear that shortly after September 28 (far left), the prices of players rise sharply. In the case of Pepe, the price remains quite high for some time because he was quite valuable for, for example, icon SBCs.
Even better, the market value development can be seen in the following screen with Corentin Tolisso. Shortly after release, he was around 13k, peaking 1.5 weeks later at 30k.
