EA Sports has released the first Title Update for FIFA 19. A few days ago, the patch went live on PC, and now the update is also available for consoles. What is changing?
Early Patch: Just like last year, FIFA 19 receives its first major update shortly after release. Mainly, bug fixes and minor adjustments are made. Changes to the gameplay, however, are intended to be minimal.
With this, EA Sports wants to listen to the community, which criticized changes to the gameplay being too drastic last year: They want to give the game time and wait for further feedback from players.
What is changing in the gameplay
Shot bug fixed:
While the gameplay was hardly touched, there is a bug that was specifically modified: “Players perform a finesse shot when trying to shoot with power – this option is therefore temporarily removed,” FIFA coach Benny aka TaZz in the Mein-MMO interview criticized. EA has now fixed this error.
Additionally, a bug concerning free kicks was adjusted: For these, the free kick display often jumped to 100% power, although players desired less. This has also been fixed.
Here, several bugs have also been fixed, such as those during the display of rewards, error messages when distributing objects, or the delayed adjustment of the balance after transfers.
Another bug concerning the SBCs required that you log out before you were able to collect your rewards. This has also been fixed.
Stability has also been worked on – however, there were no major changes.
What is changing in The Journey
Story errors corrected:
For example, character customization did not work for all players.
Warnings or red cards lead to incorrect suspensions – for instance, Danny Williams did not have to miss a game after a red card in the first match.
Further error corrections regarding stability and visual adjustments have been made.
What is changing in Career Mode
Petr Cech now with hair and tie:
If you qualified through playoffs for the Europa League or Champions League, tournament matches were partially held on the same day as your league final. This issue has been fixed.
In addition, the famous bug about Petr Cech’s helmet, which he also wore during contract negotiations, has been resolved. Further bugs in Career Mode have also been fixed.

FIFA coach Benny aka TaZz from bPartGaming expressed: “Last year there was an early patch that fixed many bugs. However, it was criticized by everyone because it changed a lot of what made the game at that time.”
Nonetheless, he would welcome an early patch: “This time it might be good if the patch addressed the bugs.” Pro Marcel “Donchap28” Deutscher also emphasized: “If the patch comes, it must not change the entire game again. Because it gives a good impression – both for casual gamers and for us pros.” The wishes of the pros have been fulfilled – and thus also those of the community.
