This is what happened: The biggest wish of four children in England was to have Lionel Messi in their Ultimate Team. But the superstar is quite expensive and hardly affordable with in-game currency.
The children’s solution: They are trying to get their favorite player from FIFA packs. However, the children, all under 10 years old, were probably not aware that the packs cost a lot of money.
So they happily opened packs and hoped for Lionel Messi. They must have opened quite a few sets and repeatedly topped up their FIFA account with new FIFA points for real money.
For a total amount of 611 euros, you can get quite a few packs in FIFA 19. However, the prices vary widely, with packs ranging from 1 euro to 25 euros.
This is the extent: The credit card bill clearly shows that the children were unstoppable. On June 3 alone, they spent 175.94 pounds, which is 195.41 euros.
How did the children manage this? The father had once gifted the children a set for 10 euros. He probably didn’t notice that his children had been observing the purchase process very closely. Afterwards, they were able to carry it out independently without any problems.
Additionally, the father admitted that he didn’t take all safety measures and did not protect the payment process with a pin.
But why didn’t the parents notice anything? The parents only noticed the many charges when their credit card was declined during a purchase because the account was empty. The problem was that the purchase confirmations were sent to an old email address of the father.

The Nintendo Switch has been confiscated indefinitely since the incident, the father said.
