A new leak about FIFA 19 has emerged: It shows gameplay footage of a Europa League match.
Gameplay leak spreading: Recently, gameplay scenes of FIFA 19 were leaked in the reddit forum. Normally, EA Sports quickly takes such leaks offline, but this video is still online at the moment. The 10-minute clip has already been shared across various platforms.
The video comes from the user WhadaFack, who posted it uncommented with the title “Leaked FIFA 19 UEFA Europa League Gameplay” in the forum. We embed it here – but cannot guarantee that it will be available for long:
Note: The original video has since been taken offline. Here is the same video in lower video quality:
Motion footage of the Europa League – Manchester City vs Manchester United
What is shown in the leaked video? The video starts with the user selecting the “UEFA Europa League” mode in the menu. Other modes can also be seen, such as a classic match or the Champions League. Then, the teams Manchester City and Manchester United are selected, and the game is started.
What stands out in the gameplay?
- The new Europa League presentation is visible. The design is in yellow-orange colors.
- About minute 1:04, the Europa League trophy appears on screen. After the lineups, the game starts at 2:10.
- Just 10 seconds after kickoff, the first and only goal is scored. Sané scores a volley goal after a cross. The opponent seems disinterested in a duel and instead swings wildly past the ball.
- During the game, the new ball receptions, new duels, and generally new animations can be observed repeatedly. You can find more information about all gameplay innovations in our preview report on FIFA 19.
- The user executes a lot of inaccurate passes. These are less due to the new gameplay, but more due to the skills of the user.
- At around 9:30, you see a longer scene where several players are trying to get the ball. Here, the new duel behavior is quite visible.
Update: Here is a longer version of this video. It shows another goal and the victory celebration:
Is it actually “real” gameplay? Yes, this leak is undoubtedly real. However, you should keep in mind that FIFA 19 is still in development. Until the release, EA Sports will give the game the final polish. Official gameplay footage of FIFA 19 is expected to be available during Gamescom in August.
Why is the Europa League shown here? EA Sports has acquired the rights to the Champions League, the Europa League, and the Super Cup. These competitions will run throughout FIFA 19.
