FIFA 19 introduces some innovations and changes to FUT, the Ultimate Team mode. Here you will find all the FUT 19 news regarding cards, icons, and modes summarized in a concise overview.
Year after year, EA Sports continues to develop the Ultimate Team mode of their FIFA series. FIFA 19 is no exception and enhances FUT with a new mode and some fresh features.
New Mode and Other Innovations in FUT 19
The new mode Division Rivals: In FUT 19, there are no more online seasons. These are replaced by Division Rivals, where you compete against similarly skilled human opponents to climb the leagues and earn better rewards. You can read the full details about Division Rivals here.
“Player Picks”: Sometimes, you receive dynamic packs as rewards, where you have 5 players to choose from. You can decide which player you want to start with the most and choose them. These “Player Picks” are reminiscent of the draft mode, where you can choose from 5 players for each position. However, EA Sports states that you should not expect five top players to be available in every dynamic pack.
FUT Champions: The Weekend League is being revamped. From now on, you will play 30 games on the weekend instead of 40. Additionally, the reward system is new. You can find all the information about the new Weekend League here.
Tactical enthusiasts will be pleased in FUT 19
Dynamic tactics are also present in FUT: In FIFA 19, you will receive more tools to give your tactical formation more personality before the game and quick tactics during the game. You can customize them. Each tactical variant combines formations, mentalities, and offensive or defensive playstyles. You can read all the information about dynamic tactics in FIFA 19 here.
Better squad and item management: In FUT 19, you should spend less time managing your items and instead play more. Therefore, there is a new “Pack Flow Manager” that speeds up item management. Just pull the right stick up or down to perform card actions. There are also better filter options to search specifically for items. So management tasks are done quicker.
New cards, icons, and Champions League coming to FUT 19
New card designs and pack openings: The pack opening will be even more impactful. “Walk-outs” have new animations when they enter the screen. Additionally, the card design of the TOTW cards has been significantly enhanced. From now on, the player’s image is no longer limited to a section of the card but stretches across the entire card and is even transparent behind the player ratings.
The Champions Channel is being improved and expanded with new features. You can now jump directly to important scenes in replays.
Some new icons are coming, such as Rivaldo, Seedorf, Baggio, or Cannavaro. Germans like Klose, Ballack, and Lehmann are also included. You can find the complete list of all icons with their ratings in FUT 19 here.
By the way: EA Sports announced that fans can look forward to new content and events in FUT throughout the year. Right at the start, there will be the “Ones to Watch,” which includes Cristiano Ronaldo!
During the season, completely new cards will also be released, like the new Champions League cards.
