In FIFA 18 Ultimate Team, everything is currently about the World Cup. The “Path to Glory” selection cards have been confirmed and the first SBCs in the World Cup mode have been announced.
With the Ultimate TOTS, the “Team of the Season” promo in FUT 18 comes to an end. Now it’s all about the upcoming World Cup in Russia.
On June 5th, the “Path to Glory” selection cards were established.
In the evening of June 6th, there will be the first new Squad Building Challenges in the World Cup update for Ultimate Team.
WzR Selection: These are the “Path to Glory” selection cards
The official squads for the Football World Cup have been announced. These will also be updated in Ultimate Team shortly, and all missing players will be added.
Outside of the World Cup mode, there are also the “Path to Glory” (PTG) cards. These received their update on June 5th.
All players who will travel to the World Cup have been turned into WzR selection cards. The special feature is: These PTG selection cards are live items and will continue to receive upgrades for strong performances during the World Cup.
Community’s request fulfilled: New World Cup SBCs are coming
The World Cup update has been very well received by FIFA fans; a lot has been done right. But as always, there are also some bugs in the World Cup mode.
Fans are complaining about the lack of the ability to create multiple teams and the shortage of Squad Building Challenges. So far, there are just repeatable standard upgrade SBCs.
At least on the latter, EA is addressing: Starting from June 6th at 7 PM, new nation SBCs will start in the World Cup mode. New ones will appear every 48 hours; what exactly they will include is still unknown.
Additionally, it seems that work is being done to bring the new player faces to all game modes. So far, the current face scans have only been available in the World Cup mode – except for Mohamed Salah, who finally received his correct hairstyle in normal FUT.
