In these squad updates, players receive new “World Cup” ratings. Additionally, some received new face scans, meaning authentic in-game appearances.

World Cup Squad: The Players of All Teams with Ratings
Below we provide an overview of all national teams that have had their World Cup ratings officially confirmed. It is possible that EA might make changes again. After all, the final World Cup squads have not yet been officially announced.
The ratings in the “World Cup” mode are based on performances in the national jersey. Therefore, some ratings may initially seem surprising.
Furthermore, EA Sports announced on Twitter that the national teams in FIFA will include more than 23 players. Every player who has played at least one match in the World Cup qualification is eligible for a World Cup card.
- Germany: The DFB team comes with some Bayern stars, but also with the non-nominated Götze

- England: The Three Lions with Harry Kane as the superstar
- France: The French have the strongest FIFA squad!
- Belgium: With stars like De Bruyne, Hazard, Courtois, Mertens, or Lukaku
- Mexico: Vela, Lozano, and Chicharito await us

What exactly happens in the World Cup mode?
In FIFA 18, you can replay the World Cup in Russia with the World Cup mode. You can also conduct your own tournaments or play a simple kickoff match with all licensed stadiums and national teams.
Great things are also expected for FUT 18: New icons, dynamic items, and various World Cup modes like SBCs, drafts, or tournaments will come to Ultimate Team.
The system is similar to the World Cup mode in FIFA 14:
- The coins are valid across modes; there is only one account for both the “normal” FUT mode and the World Cup mode
- For every pack you buy in the World Cup mode, you also receive one in the “normal” mode
- There is no transfer market; players can only be drawn or obtained through SBCs
- The chemistry system is different: nationality and continental affiliation matter instead of club, league, and nationality
With the World Cup Squad Builder from futbin, you can already create speculative teams using the new chemistry system.
