In FIFA 18 Ultimate Team, there are currently TOTS cards available in the Daily Knockout Tournament. Many players use a cheat to obtain the cards without winning the DKT. And apparently, no one seems to mind.
The “Team of the Season” period is one of the most exciting times in the entire FIFA year. There are many new special cards, and some SBCs, weekly challenges, and other events.
The “Daily Knockout Tournament” has also been included. Currently, there is a “Team of the Season” player to win there. However, many gamers obtain the TDS card without winning the Daily Knockout Tournament at all. They use the “Weekend League” link, an official tool from EA.
Players use a glitch to obtain the TOTS card
What is the Daily Knockout Tournament? During the TOTS period, various “Team of the Season” cards can be won in the DKT. The first is Jose Callejon from the “Community Team”. From Wednesday, there will be Junior Hoillet from the EFL-TDS. Normally, you must win all four matches of the tournament to gain access to FUT Champions and receive the TOTS card.
How do players trick their way to victory? If you force a disconnect during a DKT match, there is a possibility to use an EA tool to still gain access to the Weekend League. You will also receive the prize – currently the TOTS card – if the application is successful.
Why does the glitch work? Normally, the tool is supposed to help with disconnects from EA servers. For unknown reasons, disconnecting from the Internet is sometimes counted as a server disconnect.
The official description for “Weekend League access for FIFA Ultimate Team Champions” from EA states:
Use the FUT Champions Weekend League request tool if you have won a Daily Knockout Tournament but have not received your Weekend League access due to an error or disconnect.
Even though there is a warning under the tool for misuse, no case has yet been reported where an account was banned.
Why is no one complaining about the DKT cheat?
By now, almost everyone knows the “link to FUT Champions qualification”. The tool appears as the first search result on Google when you type in “Weekend League link”. But why is no one complaining about it?
Strong players benefit from the WL tool: Good FIFA players who win the Daily Knockout Tournament even without the link benefit in the Weekend League. Due to the larger number of weaker players who win the DKT through the trick, they are matched against easier opponents. This makes it easier for them to achieve a good rank.
Weak players benefit from the WL tool: For players who only win the DKT with a lot of luck or time, the link is great. They receive a TOTS player and additionally the opportunity to prove themselves in the Weekend League.
EA benefits from the WL tool: By lowering the qualification threshold for the Weekend League from Gold 3 to Silver 2, EA shows that they welcome many players in the WL. This tool helps achieve that goal and also keeps players engaged who under normal circumstances could never afford or earn a TDS card.
Bottom line: Even though the “Weekend League tool” is technically cheating, the entire player base benefits from it. The only bitter aftertaste remains when you earn the TOTS card through hard work and then see other people getting it effortlessly.
