A new title update is live for FIFA 18. It will have version number 1.09 on PS4. Here are the patch notes for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Update 27.2.: The update is now also available for download on PS4 and Xbox One. It is approximately 1.1 GB in size.
Original article:
Yesterday, on February 20th, a new FIFA 18 update was released for PC. Curiously, it was not known at that time what changes this update would bring, as EA Sports did not provide patch notes. Only the download size of approximately 1.5 GB was known.
Meanwhile, the developers have released the official patch notes. At the same time, they announced that this update will also be available for PS4 and Xbox One next week.
What changes with title update 1.09 in February?
The biggest changes concern the menus:
- A “Accessibility Settings Screen” is added in the main menu settings – a setting for accessibility. With it, you can:
- turn off needing the right stick in the menus when playing with a controller. You can then navigate the menus completely with the left stick.
- navigate in the game settings and controller settings using only the left stick.
- display an ESC button during gameplay so you can access the pause menu if you are using only a mouse for control.
- adjust the size of clickable buttons in the menu when using a mouse.
- Additionally, the “menu lag” is fixed. When using the D-Pad, i.e., the arrow keys, there could previously be instances where the input was not registered. This will now be fixed.

Changes in Ultimate Team:
- In the Weekend League, it will no longer be displayed in the match preview screen whether the opponent is editing their team or is “Finished”. It will now always show that they are editing. There is a problem where the opponent’s status sometimes shows as empty. This will be fixed in a future update.
- When you select the difficulty of a match in Squad Battles, it will no longer affect the standard difficulty outside of Squad Battles.
- The displays in the FUT Champions Channel will be adjusted. Among other things, there should be no text overlaps in German and Polish anymore.
- On the transfer market, there were problems with the search filter for player contracts and manager contracts.
- 970 players will receive new 2D images on their player cards.
- Additionally, 342 players will receive 2D images for the first time, who previously only had a silhouette on their card.
- Furthermore, a commentator output will be revised: After a goal, the commentator says that the defender deflected the ball into the goal, even though it was the goalkeeper who touched the ball before it rolled into the goal. Several languages are affected by this issue, including German.
