In FIFA 18 Ultimate Team, the “Festival of FUTball” event for the World Cup starts on June 13. We can expect special special cards, SBCs, and other content.
With the World Cup mode there is already a large focus on the World Cup in FIFA 18. Now the regular FUT mode will also offer something for the World Cup. EA celebrated the occasion of the European Championship with the FUTball festival back in 2016.

“World Cup” Inform Items
In the coming weeks, teams will be released that resemble the set “Team of the Week” . It starts with the World Cup teams on June 20.
The special cards are based on the performances of various phases of the World Cup. Only the best World Cup players will receive “Festival of FUTball” cards.
If a “Path to Glory” player receives such an award, his “Path to Glory” card will also be updated.
Festival of FUTBall: Squad Building Challenges
Many different SBCs will be released during the “Festival of FUTball”. They will relate to World Cup events and matches. Players may also be unlockable to strengthen your own FUT club.
Some SBCs are time-limited. The first ones came on June 13 at 7 PM.
The Country SBCs
There are four major SBC groups with a “Festival of FUTball” SBC card as a reward: Europe, America, Africa, and Asia.
Europe: As a reward, you get Marcus Rashford (87). You need to exchange a team from Belgium, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, and Sweden. For each of these SBCs, you will receive a special card of the respective nation. For the German team, you will get World Cup hero Mario Götze (84).
America: The reward is Arturo Vidal (90). You need to exchange teams from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, USA, and Uruguay. For this, you will receive cards like Fabian Johnson (82).
Africa: Here you will receive Ndidi (86) as a reward. The sub-SBCs include Cameroon, Congo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, and South Africa. Among others, you can get Seydou Doumbia (82) here.
Asia: As a reward, you will receive Shinji Kagawa (86). The countries to be exchanged are Australia, South Korea, Japan, and Saudi Arabia.
International Content
Italians and Dutch beware: For the “Festival of FUTball”, “Classic International Heroes” are coming. These are special FUT items for players who are strong in the national team but are not participating in the World Cup 2018 in Russia.
Therefore, players like Arjen Robben might receive a “Modern Classic” hero item. There will also be World Cup-based events in weekly tasks, Daily Knockout Tournaments, and Squad Battles.
How the “Festival of FUTball” went in FIFA 16
The event was celebrated for the last time in FUT 16, back then for the occasion of the European Championship.
There were “International Man of the Match” items, “Classic International Heroes”, and two “Team of the Tournaments” (TDT). Additionally, there were various single and multiplayer tournaments as well as “Mystery Sets” as rewards for such tournaments.
