Trailers showcasing the new attacking options and revamped set pieces have been released for FIFA 17.
FIFA 17 places great emphasis on four new gameplay features. Each aspect is assigned to a football professional:
- Revamped Set Pieces – James Rodriguez
- Diverse Attacking Techniques – Anthony Martial
- Enhanced Body Control – Eden Hazard
- Adaptive Player Intelligence – Marco Reus
EA Sports has now released trailers for the first two features, showcasing an interview with the respective player and presenting the innovations.

Diverse Attacking Techniques in FIFA 17
With the new techniques in attack, you should have more options to create chances in front of the goal.
Here are the innovations:
- Powerful, Low Shot: When shooting, you can now keep the ball low at all times, whether it’s driven shots, volleys, or “regular” opportunities.
- Precise Through Ball: This allows you to play the ball with curl and precision into open space, creating new scoring opportunities.
- Header Bounce: If you want to surprise the goalkeeper with a header, you can now press the ball down to the ground, making saves more challenging.
- Variable Kickoff: With this feature, you can execute a powerful and precise kickoff to start a quick counter-attack.
These innovations are showcased in the following trailer:
Revamped Set Pieces in FIFA 17
In FIFA 17, you gain more control over set pieces, allowing you to add a personal touch.
- Free Kicks: You can determine your run-up for free kicks, influencing the curve and trajectory of the ball. Outside curve shots are possible, where the ball curls around the wall.
- Corner Kicks: A new corner targeting system has been developed to allow for more precise teammate selection. Additionally, teammates react differently during the delivery, helping you to prepare headers more effectively.
- Penalty Kicks: Now you decide how you want to approach the ball. You can come at it from various angles and with adjusted speed. From the spot, you have more options in FIFA 17.
- Throw-ins: During throw-ins, you can walk up and down the line to improve your throw-in position. You can also feint throw-ins to briefly confuse opponents.
