In FIFA 17, the focus is on authenticity. This is to be achieved through improved graphics, new stadiums, and an enhanced atmosphere. This also includes pyro technology!
EA Sports released a list of numerous aspects that are meant to ensure an authentic gaming experience in FIFA 17. These include various stadium elements and features in the stands that reflect a false stadium experience. These include:
- Player tunnel exits
- Sponsor boards for welcome ceremonies
- Ball plinths
- Field flags
- Pyrotechnics
- Confetti cannons
- Home team corner flags
- Stadium-specific net holder colors
You heard right, pyrotechnics are in the game. While they are generally frowned upon by officials and numerous fans in real football, they can still be found in stadiums. Now they are also included in FIFA 17.
Additionally, fresh animations aim to make the sequences before the game, at halftime, and after the final whistle even smoother.
New Stadiums and Performance Analyses
With the release of FIFA 17 on September 29, you can play in three new stadiums. In addition to the new home of West Ham United, there are Riverside Stadium (Middlesbrough) and Gamba Osaka’s Suita City Football Stadium.
In terms of performance analysis in the game and competition presentation, FIFA 17 takes a step forward. The FA Cup is equipped with its own authentic graphic package that reflects the real visual presentation of this competition:
Furthermore, the performance data of key offensive players will be “tracked” during matches, with these statistics graphically presented and commented on by the commentators during the game. Fuss and “Buschi” will specifically address the actual performances of certain players.
Moreover, the commentators will analyze the standings during the match or discuss cup results. For an even more intense football experience, they will also discuss surprise teams, title decisions, or highly competitive tournament groups.
The commentators have even more to do: Especially in the story mode “The Journey” they have new lines at their disposal. They report on key milestones about your character Alex Hunter, talk about special transfers or rivalry matches.
Fan Chants and Player Emotions
What would a football match be without fans? To enhance the atmosphere in the stadium, new stadium sounds have been integrated. Two new stadium announcers, over 500 fan chants, and lively and dynamic fan crowds in the stands are added.
This year’s innovations include, for example, the Island celebration, which gained worldwide fame during Euro 2016. The “Hala Madrid” anthem is also in the game.
If your players squander “100%” goal opportunities or just experience goosebumps moments after a title win, that should also be visible on FIFA 17 in their faces. Thanks to the Frostbite engine, more realistic emotions can be portrayed. The coaches on the sidelines also react to the happenings on the pitch.
