In FIFA 17 some innovations for the career mode are known. These include managers on the sidelines and total club management.
In the spin-offs of the annual football simulation by EA Sports, there are numerous modes in which players can let loose. For the online area, there is, for example, Ultimate Team, Pro Clubs, Seasons, or the Coop mode. For offline experiences, you can kick off or start a career. The career mode, in particular, is popular among many fans, where you can prove your skills as a manager.
There is also a career mode in FIFA 17 – and it is set to be more extensive and authentic than ever before.
Manage the club and keep an eye on the finances
The “FIFA 17” career mode offers new features on PS4, Xbox One, and PC that allow you to have total control over your club. A fresh system in this regard is the “Total Club Management.”
In total club management, you will have to dance to the tune of your club’s board: They will give you various tasks to fulfill, with each team having a “distinct character” and setting different short-term and long-term goals.
The board’s expectations are divided into 5 categories:
- National success
- Continental success
- Brand presence
- Finances
- Youth development
For example, the board’s tasks for you could be:
- Encourage youth players!
- Achieve a return to the top league!
- Strengthen the club in the Asian market!
- Sign world-class players!
These are just a few examples of the goals that await you in the new career mode. To ensure you don’t lose sight of the goals, there is an overview menu specifically for that:
A crucial role in any club management is played by finances. Without money, professional football doesn’t roll – not even on the virtual pitch. Therefore, FIFA 17 features a revamped financial system that allows you to keep track of revenues and expenses.
You earn revenue from:
- Transfers
- Loans
- Matchday revenue
- Media and merchandising
You incur expenses through:
- Player salaries
- Salaries for scouts
- Youth facilities
- Stadium equipment
- Travel costs
Managers on the sidelines
According to EA Sports, the power of the Frostbite engine now allows managers on the sidelines to be depicted for the first time on PC, PS4, and Xbox One – and authentically.
You can choose from 11 “graphically brilliant coaches” that you can experience during the game.
By the way: The list of playable leagues in the “FIFA 17” career mode now also includes the Japanese J1 League.
In addition to a career mode, FIFA 17 will feature a story mode for the first time: The Journey.
