In FIFA 17: FUT we introduce the new feature “Squad-Building Challenges”. This gives all your player cards a purpose.
FIFA 17 is set to be the biggest FIFA ever. Thanks to the new Frostbite engine, not only improved graphics and completely new football worlds are made possible, but also numerous fresh features across the various game modes. We have already introduced the innovations in Career Mode and in the “Pro Clubs” mode.
The SBCs are probably the biggest innovation in FIFA 17: FUT. They give all player cards a purpose. Until now, players pulled numerous cards from packs that they could not or did not want to use for their own team, which were then labeled as useless. Now, in addition to the options of putting them on the transfer market or quick-selling them, there is also the possibility to exchange them in SBCs for rewards.
In the Squad-Building Challenges, you will face various challenges where you can create teams with specific requirements. They can be divided into basic, advanced, and league challenges. These will be updated throughout the season.
First choose the challenge
If you play this new mode for the first time, you will be welcomed by a tutorial that shows you the main steps. First, you choose one of the numerous challenges. For example, there is an advanced “2-Nations” challenge where you must build a starting eleven with exactly two nationalities. However, keep in mind that the chemistry must be at least 60.
Requirements in SBCs
In these challenges, you cannot just randomly throw your cards together. You must meet certain requirements. Only when a white checkmark on a green background appears next to all can you claim the rewards. In the screenshots and videos shown so far, goals from the following categories have been displayed:
A certain number of players
A certain number of nationalities
A specified team chemistry
The overall rating of the team
The number of players from the same nation
However, there will be more and different requirements.
How to complete the challenge
Now you can focus on the task and create the team. You take the necessary cards from your club in FUT 17. You can pull them from packs or purchase them on the transfer market.
It is therefore not like in the Draft mode, where you are provided with the cards for the team. You must supply the necessary cards yourself.
You complete the SBC once the team is assembled and all requirements are met. You can then “submit” this team and convert it into rewards.
But be careful: Once you submit these cards, they are gone. You should better not take the risk with your favorite players – unless you have enough cards of them.
Groups
Some challenges are also part of “groups”. If you master a complete group, there are additional in-game rewards.
Rewards in SBCs
As rewards, you will receive packs, coins, or unique items that can only be found in the Squad-Building Challenges. It is definitely worth trying out this new mode in FIFA 17.
