EA Sports apparently signed an exclusive deal for FIFA 17 with the Spanish League BBVA. Thus, this league will be fully licensed in FIFA 17.
During an official “FIFA 17” presentation at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, home of Real Madrid, the “La Liga” ambassador Fernando Morientes announced that FIFA 17 will this year be the only official video game with the BBVA league.
This means that Electronic Arts has acquired the exclusive licensing rights to the teams, players, and also the stadiums from Spain. For Konami’s PES 2017, this means that they must negotiate individually with each club if they also want to feature players from this league in their football simulation.

We have the best league in the world and EA is the best at football games.
Are all Spanish stadiums coming to FIFA 17 now?
Two years ago, EA Sports made a deal with the English Barclays Premier League. In FIFA 15, we could therefore play in all 20 stadiums of this league.
It could therefore well be that we will encounter many Spanish stadiums in the virtual football world of FIFA 17. In FIFA 16 there are currently only four:
- Camp Nou – FC Barcelona
- Estadio Vicente Calderon – Atlético Madrid
- Mestalla – Valencia
- Santiago Bernabeu – Real Madrid
However, this deal has not yet been confirmed by EA Sports. It remains to be seen how this deal mentioned by Morientes will affect FIFA 17.
Meanwhile, it is officially confirmed that the highest Japanese football league will be in FIFA 17. All 18 clubs plus one stadium will be playable. How it looks with the 3rd league from Germany, EA Sports has remained silent on this so far. In this country, this league is high on the wish list of many fans. Perhaps the developers will finally fulfill this dream with FIFA 17.
FIFA 17 will be released on 29.9.2016 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
