According to EA Sports, the Team of the Year will be revealed today, January 11, 2016, in FIFA 16. We are preparing for it.
Tonight at around 6:30 PM our time, the football world will turn its eyes to Zurich, where all the FIFA Ballon d’Or awards will be announced at the FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala, including the selection of the World Footballer of the Year. Last year, Cristiano Ronaldo was able to lift the coveted trophy over Lionel Messi and Manuel Neuer. This year, the nominated candidates are Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Neymar.
As part of this event, the Team of the Year will also be released today in FUT (short for: FIFA Ultimate Team).
What is the Team of the Year?
The Team of the Year, often referred to as Team of the Year (TOTY), is essentially the highlight of any FIFA installment in the Ultimate Team mode. Here, some top players receive the highest rating of the year – making them the most sought-after player cards in the game. These cards have been marked with blue color in recent years.
When does the Team of the Year appear?
According to the official EA Sports site, the Team of the Year will be revealed today, January 11, 2016. It can be expected that this will happen for us in the evening as part of the FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala. FUT will be regularly updated at 7 PM our time, so this time is realistic.

How do I get a player from the Team of the Year?
You have a (rather small) chance of getting a player from the TOTY when opening any FUT packs. It is very likely that special TOTY packs will come that will significantly increase the chance of getting a player from the TOTY for a substantial price increase. The TOTY players will only be available for a limited time ‒ probably until the end of this week. Additionally, only the goalkeeper and defenders will be available in packs from today, while midfielders and forwards will only become available later in the week.
Which players are in the Team of the Year?
That is not yet known. It can be assumed that Ronaldo, Messi, and probably Neymar, as nominated candidates for the Ballon d’Or, will also be included in EA’s Team of the Year. How can I prepare for this event?
The best preparation is probably to quickly earn some coins to open packs and thus have a chance at blue player cards. If you currently have some coins in stock, you’d better save them, even if there are still Premium player packs in bronze, silver, and gold until 7 PM today. However, these do not yet contain any players from the TOTY.

Currently, the Lloyd challenge is still available in FUT, where you can compete against his team. Unfortunately, there are no bonus coins to be gained here.
