There are certainly arguments about some referee decisions in FIFA 16. In these videos, we found a few refs who make questionable use of their whistle.
In hardly any other game are joy and sorrow so close together as in the annual football simulation from EA Sports. From wild celebrations to controllers flying around the apartment – such reactions can surely be related to by any FIFA player.
Who hasn’t experienced it? You are playing an online match or casually gaming with your buddy on the couch, and suddenly your heart rate skyrockets. You don’t score – even though you are obviously dominating – and your opponent scores with their first chance. Of course, through a lucky cross. And so it happens that you find yourself clearly behind at halftime and have to bite into some pillow to avoid exploding with rage.
All luck…and then the referee comes
Of course, it’s all just bad luck; the stadium’s shadow obstructs your view or the lag interferes terribly in crucial situations. The opponent has just outrageous luck, but you are clearly the better player and definitely deserved the lead.
In such situations, when everything is going against you and you know that you are actually better, an old familiar friend often steps onto the stage: the referee. Especially in FIFA 16, players agree that the ref whistles everything possible, and the reasons for this can be quite vague. In tricky situations in the penalty area, however, a fair referee should whistle consistently and clearly. However, these decisions are not always understandable.
Let’s take a look at a few of these decisions.
Penalty??? For what?!
In the following video, the ref must have determined a body contact that is incomprehensible to the average viewer:
What caused the penalty whistle in this video remains the referee’s secret. The creator of this video probably cannot understand the wrong decision, even though he immediately refers to the instant replay.
In this video, Schweinsteiger is clearly irritated by the referee’s decision. Was that really worthy of a penalty?

At this point, it should be mentioned that the referee in FIFA 16 also assesses many situations correctly. Nevertheless, such experiences always make us smile – or infuriate us. It all depends on the perspective.
