Every year in winter, some players in the FIFA series are upgraded. Today, on February 19, the release of part 3 of the player upgrades takes place. German players are also included.
This year, EA Sports is releasing the winter upgrades gradually, namely every Friday in February. Today, the third batch of freshly upgraded players is being thrown into the Ultimate Team mode of FIFA 16.
For the player upgrades, EA bases its decisions on the performances of real players over the past months. This aims to keep the football simulation up to date and to recognize the performances of certain players. This time, Mesut Özil and Mario Gomez are among them.
Mesut Özil receives an upgrade from 87 to 88. His position remains CAM. Especially his passing values are improved.
Mario Gomez has shown decent performances recently at Beşiktaş. This is also rewarded with an upgrade. His overall rating increases by two points to 80. Especially his shooting upgrade is noteworthy: there is an increase of +6. You can read about further notable winter upgrades in the graphics.

Especially Bayern Munich fans are still waiting for upgrades for Douglas Costa and Coman. Next week is the last chance for them to receive an upgrade as well.
New upgrades have already been added to the game in the last two weeks:
- In the first part of the winter upgrades, Bundesliga stars Aubameyang and Xhaka were among those who received an update.
- Last week, Lewandowski, Gündogan, and Mkhitaryan received a strong, improved card.
