With the release of Dawntrail in Final Fantasy XIV, a new feature was introduced that involves dyeing clothing. However, while the option to use a second dye slot was initially well-received, the implementation is now causing disappointment among many players.
What is this new feature? With the release of Dawntrail, a new feature was introduced that concerns dyeing clothing. Instead of one dye slot, there is now a second one to further personalize your clothing.
What initially sounded like a great change has, however, disillusioned many players and does not go far enough for many.

My joy has turned in seconds
Why are players dissatisfied with the new feature? Many players seem to be particularly bothered that it is often tiny details that can be changed, instead of two larger aspects of a piece of clothing. The user Alluminn
shares on Reddit his changes to the “Fat Cat Loungewear.”
Here, the user shows that he can change the main color of the piece, but does not have the option to change the larger areas, as one would expect, but only the two small balls on two ribbons.
Other users also seem to share this opinion. “Suriko” expresses his opinion on Reddit by showing with a meme an item consisting of a sweater and a scarf. However, one cannot, as one would expect, change the colors of the pullover and the scarf, but only the color of the pullover and a small tassel attached to the scarf.
The user “UnkaDee” then responds on Reddit that his joy has turned “within seconds from ‘oh yes’ to ‘WTF’.” It seems to many players that this is the case with many of the items.
How is Dawntrail being received so far? Apart from dyeing, Dawntrail seems to be well received by players. What stands out positively is that the queues to get into the game seem surprisingly short, as this thread on Reddit shows.
Our colleague Sophia was able to play the new expansion “Dawntrail” before release. She was especially taken by a new class. Which one it is and why she likes it so much, you can read here: I played the new expansion for Final Fantasy XIV and fell in love with the new class like from Sword Art Online
