To embody the Red Mage, you first need to reach level 50 and complete the main scenario quest “The Ultimate Weapon”. Then head to Ul’dah to the “Thal-Crossing”. There you will find a “disturbed girl” who gives you a quest.
Complete this task in central Thanalan and hand it back to the girl. After that, you will find a Red Mage in the tavern south of the “Coal Dust Station”. Talk to him and you can have the job.

If you want to be a noble Samurai, you also need to reach level 50 and complete the main scenario quest “The Ultimate Weapon”. Then also head to Ul’dah to the “Aetheryte Crystal”.
There, a citizen of Ul’dah is roaming around. He will give you a quest that leads you to the “Thal-Crossing”. There in the coliseum, speak with the Samurai Gladiator and you will get the job.
