Spain is not only one of the strongest national teams in FC 24. They are also currently dominating their opponents in real football. We took a closer look at the Spaniards’ Euro tactics and show you how to utilize the successful Tiki-Taka for your Ultimate Team.
What characterizes the Spanish Tiki-Taka? The Spanish style of play is characterized by an extremely high number of passes to create goal opportunities. Their opponents are worn down by their incredible ball control.
What formation is good for Tiki-Taka? In recent years, Spain has found success with the 4-3-3 formation. This formation creates several “triangles” between the players, which can be used as passing options for the passer (see image).
However, the right formation is only half the battle. The players all know exactly what they need to do. We will show you what tactical instructions and individual directives you should give your players to replicate the successful Tiki-Taka of the Spaniards.
Spanish Tiki-Taka: Formation, Tactics, and Instructions
We looked at the default settings of the UEFA EURO mode in FC 24 for the Spanish Tiki-Taka.
The EURO mode was part of a significant update, which we introduced in more detail here at MeinMMO.
Formation
Spain plays the 4-3-3 (Holding) in the European Championship. Unlike the normal 4-3-3 formation, you have a defensively oriented midfielder in the center of the midfield.
Tactics
In the tactics, you have the opportunity to adjust your play with and against the ball.
Defense
For the defense, you make the following settings:
- Defensive Style: Balanced
- Pressing: 50
- Depth: 70
With a depth of 70, your team sets a slightly higher defensive line. Additionally, this activates the automatic offside trap and team pressing.
Offense
Crucial for Tiki-Taka is how your team behaves when in possession of the ball. You make the following adjustments for this:
- Build-Up Play: Slow Build-Up
- Chance Creation: Possession
- Width: 70
- Players in the Box: 5
- Corners: 3
- Free Kicks: 3
Your entire game is set up to combine your way through passes from back to front. Your players will continuously offer themselves for short passes.
Instructions
With the instructions, you can give each player individual behaviors with and against the ball.
Below, we will go through each position. You will only see the instructions that you should manually adjust. All other default settings remain unchanged.
- LF:
- Chance Creation: Cut Inside
- Supporting Runs: Overlap Defense
- ST:
- Offensive Runs: Overlap Defense

- RV:
- Run Type: Overlapping
- TW:
- Defending Crosses: Cross Catcher
- Outside the Box: GK-Libero
How do you play with this tactic? It is essential to remain patient with this tactic. With the many short passes, you essentially set up your opponent until the decisive gap in the defense opens up. Do not hesitate to look for the backward pass to lure the opponent out of position.
Which players are suitable for Tiki-Taka? For a tactic designed around many passes, players with high passing quality are suitable. At this current stage of Ultimate Team, you can find many cards at an affordable price that have a passing value around 90.
Ideally, these players also possess the appropriate passing playstyles for short passes. Notable mentions include the Through Ball, the Key Pass, and ideally Tiki-Taka. Perhaps you should sign a few Spaniards directly; they typically have this style of play in their DNA. However, one of the Spanish Euro players cannot be included in your team in Ultimate Team.
