Two days ago, a new Far Cry was presented, which rides on the current prehistoric dinosaur hype.
Big Mammoths, Small Conflicts
At the latest since Jurassic World and ARK: Survival Evolved, the zombie hype has subsided a bit and has been replaced by dinosaurs and everything prehistoric. Because who needs futuristic cities when the apocalypse can wonderfully be played out 12,000 years earlier? So or something similar must have been the thinking of the creators of the latest Far Cry. It bears the promising name “Primal” and takes players back to a time when humans still fought with mammoths and different tribes tore each other apart for entering their territory.
From the Last Survivor to the Tribe Leader
In the game, you take on the role of Takkar, the last survivor of his tribe, who finds himself – unfortunately – in hostile territory. Because hunting alone is quite exhausting and a game without power gain is boring, the poor man must set out to gradually establish his own tribe. Territorial battles have been important components in previous installments and are likely to be on the agenda in Primal as well. The same goes for crafting weapons – however, here it will more likely be spears rather than pistols. Interesting: It is rumored that animals can be tamed as companions.
In previous Far Cry games, experiments with multiplayer modes have already been conducted, and at least the trailer gives hope that friends can also participate in the mammoth and saber-toothed tiger hunt.
It is definitely exciting to observe that seemingly small games like ARK: Survival Evolved have such a significant influence on top titles – or the very similar theme is just a coincidence. That can happen.
