The release of Far Cry: New Dawn is almost here. Now the developers have revealed how much storage space the game needs at launch – and it’s quite a bit less compared to its predecessor.
In just a few days, on 15.02.2019, the release of the latest “Far Cry” title is scheduled. New Dawn is already ready to go for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
But before the fun can begin, Far Cry: New Dawn needs to be downloaded and installed, which naturally will take up some storage space. Especially on consoles, hard drive storage is always a concern, as most hard drives of ambitious gamers are often well filled.
This much GB does Far Cry need on PC and Xbox One: Ubisoft has now published the storage requirements for PC and Xbox One. To install the game, you will need:
- 22.77 GB on Xbox One
- 30 GB on PC
The size is therefore quite reasonable for a current game.
And what about the PS4? No information has been provided yet about the necessary storage space on Sony’s PlayStation 4. However, it is to be expected that the value will be similar to that on Xbox One. Anyone who wants to be safe should free up a few more GB or simply buy an additional hard drive for the PS4.
More storage will be necessary in the future: Anyone already struggling with limited hard drive space should work on a long-term solution. Because any DLCs could increase the requirements further. The predecessor, Far Cry 5, was even significantly larger at launch with a proud 40 GB.
So, especially at launch, New Dawn will be significantly smaller. Whether this also means less gameplay scope or simply more effective storage use, we will be able to see in a few days.
