In Ubisoft’s upcoming first-person shooter Far Cry 5 you can expect a main story of about 25 hours. However, through an Easter egg, you can also complete the game in under 10 minutes. We will show you how.
Far Cry 5 is an action-adventure first-person shooter and is the fifth main installment of the successful Far Cry series, set to be released on March 27, 2018, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
This time, the setting is in the fictional Hope County (Montana, USA), where a radical cult called “Eden’s Gate” rises around a priest with a disturbed worldview and terrorizes the local population. The cultists and the remaining citizens increasingly come into conflict. Armed conflicts break out, and a resistance group is formed.
As a player, you take on the role of a local deputy sheriff, who, as a member of the resistance, aims to take down the cult leader Joseph Seed during the nearly 25-hour long campaign.
Through an Easter egg, you have the opportunity, as in Far Cry 4, to “slightly” reduce the time spent on the story.

Main story of Far Cry 5 in under 10 minutes – here’s how to get a secret ending
The campaign of Far Cry 5 according to first estimates offers about 25 hours of gameplay. If you enjoy engaging in side quests in secondary theaters of war, the gameplay time can be significantly longer.
However, a kind of secret Easter egg allows you to complete the game in under 10 minutes. Similar was possible in the predecessor Far Cry 4.
To do this, you need to observe the following:
- One of your first important decisions will be whether to cuff the cult leader Joseph Seed at the beginning of the game or not.
- If you refuse long enough, your decision will trigger a sequence that will conclude the game with a secret ending.
The solution is actually obvious, because the charismatic cult leader says: “God will not allow you to take me captive.” The sheriff agrees with Seed for other reasons: “If we cuff him, none of us will get out of here alive.” That might make you hesitate.
