Far Cry 5 (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC) comes with the Arcade a map editor that allows creating various maps and game modes. The power of the tool has now been demonstrated by the first players who have recreated the map de_dust2 from Counter Strike, the house of the Baker family from Resident Evil 7, or even PUBG in the game.
Far Cry 5 has been on the market for barely a week, and players have already discovered the Arcade map editor to recreate current gaming hits or shooter classics in Far Cry 5.
After the executive producer of Far Cry 5, Dan Hay, mentioned in an interview about the game duration that a battle royale mode like in Fortnite or PUBG would be “super cool” in the Arcade, creative individuals took these games as their inspiration.
For movie fans, the planet Scarif from the “Star Wars” spin-off Rogue One was recreated. Even a TIE Fighter decoration has been included in the Arcade version of Far Cry 5.
The map de_dust2 from Counter Strike also seems not to be missing in the Arcade. Although the map in Far Cry 5 does not involve bomb defusals, a good old Team Deathmatch is played instead.
Lastly, the Baker house from Resident Evil 7 has been recreated. Players explore a similarly looking area, as at the beginning of the latest game in the Resident Evil series. Unfortunately, the house itself is not accessible.
The Arcade is available to all players of Far Cry 5 and is set to be expanded regularly. The map editor includes not only items from Far Cry 5 but also from other Ubisoft titles such as Far Cry 4, Far Cry Primal, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, Assassin’s Creed Unity, and Watch Dogs.
Currently, single-player maps or maps for up to twelve players can be created in the modes Attack, Outpost, Journey, Bounty Hunt, Deathmatch, and Team Deathmatch.
