In Far Cry 5, you have nine companions to choose from in your fight against the cult, which you can unlock gradually. But what are your companions up to when they’re not helping you out? The answer is both surprising and hurtful.
Have you ever wondered what your loyal companions – the so-called Guns for Hire – do in Far Cry 5 to pass the time when they aren’t fighting alongside you against the cult?
They cover your back in the heat of battle, help you back to your feet when you lie injured on the ground, or annoy you with their chatter when all you want is to fish in peace.

The Animals Want Peace
Your animal friends seemingly want their peace and make their way home, or to their designated locations. The bear Cheeseburger sets off to his old cage at the F.A.N.G. Center. The big cat Peaches heads back to the taxidermy location and dog Boomer wants to go home to his doghouse at Rae-Rae’s pumpkin farm.
8-Bit Pizza Bar – Everyone is There, but No One Tells You
Your 6 human companions are much more sociable.
They usually find a vehicle and then disappear around the next curve. But if you think that ends the matter, you are gravely mistaken.
If you follow a dismissed companion or even join them as a passenger, you will inevitably end up at a dive called 8-Bit Pizza Bar. From the outside, the shack looks unremarkable and uninviting. Moreover, you sometimes have to clear out some cultists before you can calmly approach the entrance.
Once you finally enter the bar, a huge surprise awaits the players: All (inactive) human companions are apparently enjoying their free time together – relaxing on the floor, having conversations, telling jokes, training, cleaning their weapons, or just strolling through the house – all without you!
Admittedly, it hurts to discover this cozy gathering. After all you’ve been through together with these loyal companions, it breaks even the toughest resistance fighter’s heart to be excluded from this chill time.
It feels like your best friends secretly threw a cool party behind your back, and you only find out when you stumble in unexpectedly. But as the saying goes, work and leisure must be separated.
