The MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV announced on Twitter that an old hairstyle, which was previously available, is now making a comeback. And fans are celebrating, as glamour is the true endgame in FFXIV.
This is the hairstyle: The hairstyle that many players desire is called “Modern Aesthetics – Gambler.” The hairstyle was first used by the NPC M’naago Rahz. She is a resistance fighter who players encounter in the Stormblood expansion.
Originally, the hairstyle was available during the Gold Saucer Festival in 2017 and was only available for a short time. Players who missed the festival or started playing FFXIV later ended up empty-handed. Now, Square Enix announced via Twitter that the hairstyle will make a comeback in FFXIV.
The new patch 5.5 is coming on April 13 and along with it, the coveted hairstyle will return to the game. You will be able to exchange the item for MGP currency at the Gold Saucer. So it will happen without involving the real-money shop.
Prior to this, some players feared: If the hairstyle returns, it will only be in the cash shop. This fear is not realized.
The hairstyle was very popular at launch, which led to a meme or two poking fun at its popularity.

The tweet from the English FFXIV account has over 6,600 upvotes, a number that in recent days only the news about the next Nier raid has reached. Fans of the hairstyle are especially happy that they do not have to pay extra for it.
The hairstyle was part of a limited-time event and such items usually go to the real-money shop after the event ends. This is not the case for the Gambler hairstyle.
One thing, however, dampens the players’ mood. The races Viera and Hrothgar, introduced with Shadowbringers in FFXIV, still cannot use such hairstyles, which frustrates the players of those races.
