In Dying Light 2 you fight for survival in a city plagued by zombies. However, according to some fans, the struggle for survival is not as tough and everything was much harder in the first game. What is the problem with the difficulty in Dying Light 2? Dying Light 2 promises tough survival struggles. Among other things, that weapons can only be repaired with this trick or that there are no firearms, only bows and crossbows.
According to many players on Reddit, the game is still too easy. One user writes:
My problem with the difficulty level of the game is that I felt very strong from the very beginning. When you play DL1 on hard mode, you have to choose your fights carefully, easy zombies are a big threat. I felt that I could [in DL2] fight many zombies and/or humans much too quickly [well].
Other users on Reddit say that it was no different in Dying Light 1. You quickly reached top stats and then it was easy as well. Additionally, the character in Dying Light 2 is not an ordinary human, his superiority is part of the game world and is plausibly explained.
Nonetheless, even these players often wish for a greater challenge.
Does Dying Light 2 need an ultra-hard difficulty level?
What do both factions of fans wish for? In one thing, both groups of fans agree: An even tougher difficulty level would be great. Something like a nightmare mode, where you die even faster and actually have to consider whether to engage this group of enemies or risk confronting the deadly super zombies at night.
Currently, Dying Light 2 has “only” three difficulty levels: “Easy”, “Normal”, and “Hard”. The main differences are that there are fewer resources in the higher levels, enemies have more health, and they should behave smarter overall.
