What started as a hobby has long become a full-time job: The YouTuber now has a large team, her own farm – and an alleged relationship with actor Henry Cavill.

What were the rumors? The rumors about a relationship between the influencer and Henry Cavill originated from DeuxMoi, a celebrity gossip page. In October 2023, a post appeared where an anonymous informant claimed that a British actor was having a secret affair with a German gardening YouTuber.
The celebrity reportedly bought a farm for 10 million pounds to convince the YouTuber to move to the United Kingdom.
The post ended up on Reddit, where diligent internet detectives quickly identified Marie from Wurzelwerk as the alleged partner of actor Henry Cavill. The influencer had posted a selfie in September in a room that closely resembles a room from an Instagram post of Henry Cavill (via Reddit).
Additionally, the YouTuber had announced “big news” shortly before. Furthermore, she had moved into her own farm with her then-boyfriend (via YouTube).
In October 2023, Marie aka Wurzelwerk felt compelled to make a statement on Instagram, clarifying that she was not together with the former Witcher star and also had no intention of moving to England.
However, it seems that the matter was not yet settled.

What happened next? In a video from October 16, 2024, the influencer answered her viewers’ questions in a Q&A on YouTube. She also addressed the story with Henry Cavill again.
The YouTuber reported that she had been severely “torn apart” by fans of the actor. In addition to unpleasant comments on social media, there were even awkward encounters with these people in real life.
“It was really, really intense for 2 or 3 months,” said Marie from Wurzelwerk. She didn’t want to go online at all to protect herself from it. However, she did not take legal action, the YouTuber explained.
Instead, she “completely shut herself off” from it until she eventually heard nothing more about it. Instead, she prefers to help others affected by hate online – for this, she refers to the services of the non-profit organization HateAid.
“I thought I had thick skin because I have been active online for several years and many opinions come my way every day,” said the YouTuber, “but that was next level. So, that was not cool.”
