Customizable characters and poker are at the top of the wish list for the release of Red Dead Online. That’s what Red Dead Redemption 2 fans want.
On November 26, Rockstar Games unexpectedly announced the multiplayer mode of Red Dead Redemption 2. Red Dead Online launches today, November 27, and allows players to enter the online mode for the first time. But not just anyone.
After the announcement, fans immediately expressed their wishes for the online mode of RDR 2. What should be included, and what should Rockstar Games better avoid?
Character customization better than in GTA
On Reddit, fans wrote about what they hope to see from Red Dead Online. There are great expectations regarding the characters.
Player B00M5ticK writes: “Keep your fingers crossed that we have a proper character creation system instead of the terrible ancestry system in GTA Online.” Other players mention that they would like sliders for hair, skin, body, and face.
Or a selection of NPCs? Again, other players would be satisfied if they could simply choose their character from a large palette of NPCs.
Poker and hunting in RDO
The side activities from Red Dead Redemption 2 have captivated many fans. In the weeks since the release, reports emerged that players neglected the story to go hunting or participate in mini-games instead.
Player RepoMantaur writes on Reddit: I will be playing poker and hunting all day.
Concerns about money transfer and bets: Players would indeed welcome poker, but are still skeptical. Incitatus_Horseman comments: “One reason I believe poker won’t be included is that it would be an easy way to transfer money.”
He adds that transferring money between two players was already not so easy in GTA Online because it could harm the economy.
Greeting other players
If you encounter an NPC in Red Dead Redemption 2, you can either ignore them, be rude to them, or greet them kindly. The good cowboys greet almost every NPC they encounter and wish them a nice day.
As he knows from singleplayer, user vrsick06 wishes for a similar feature in the online mode. “The world just wouldn’t feel the same if I couldn’t greet every person I meet. I hope I can say ‘Howdy Partner’ to NPCs.”
Mexico as a playable location?
From the press release by Rockstar Games regarding Red Dead Online, it is clear that the online world “is dynamic and expanding.” Some players infer that Mexico may be planned as DLC or in some other way as part of Red Dead Online.
In any case, that would be a big wish to be able to travel to Mexico in additional content.
Through a glitch in singleplayer, it was already possible to explore Mexico – this is what it looks like.
Servers with aim assist?
Regarding aim assist, the community is still unsure. Player radioraheem8 states that Red Dead Online will be a completely new experience if there is no aim assist and manual aiming is required.
Theunitedguy writes: I can imagine there will be servers with manual and automatic aim options. Just like in GTA Online.
Private servers in Red Dead Online
Player MrShuggyConehead writes on Reddit that he wishes for private servers for Red Dead Online so he can play there alone with his friends.
In GTA Online, Rockstar Games had a system that only allowed sessions for you and your friends. Whether this will be adopted in Red Dead Online is still unclear. This would then be an opportunity to explore the vast online world undisturbed – without player-controlled enemies interfering.
What do you wish for from Red Dead Online?
