It seemed that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 finally had a fixed release date. But players on Steam will have to wait longer, as the development team from GSC Game World has to postpone the launch again. This time, however, not as long as it was before.
When will S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 be released? Originally, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was supposed to be released on September 5, 2024. The development team now announces that the release will take place on November 20, 2024. So players will have to wait two and a half months longer.
It is not the first time that the survival shooter has been postponed. Before September 5, the game was supposed to be released on March 30, 2024. At that time, it was still said that it would not meet the expected standard.
What is the reason? The development team wants to focus more on bug fixing. They explain on X that they have to fix “unexpected anomalies” that are known as bugs in our world.
The fact that this time only a few bugs are being resolved gives hope that the survival title will not be postponed again. Moreover, this time it is only eight weeks that players have to wait longer.
As compensation for the delay, the development team wants to release a new video that will give us fresh insights into the game. The video will be available on the Xbox channels on August 12. It is said to feature exclusive interviews, new footage, and a complete quest from the game.
