According to BurritoBurglar9000, Diablo 2: Resurrected would benefit from daily server resets. Not only would the AFK players be kicked from the game, but also the annoying bots (via reddit).

The community wishes that the servers would run stably first and that they wouldn’t be stuck in eternal queues to enter the game. All of this affects the leaderboard at the end of the ladder season.

Diablo 2: The best class for your play style – All characters in brief
Like the original, the Diablo 2: Resurrected title will also receive a ladder system. However, fans are concerned: the game is not ready to implement this feature at all.
Although it had upset the fans that the start of the first season of the ladder mode was still not announced two weeks after the release of Diablo 2: Resurrected, players now fear that it might not be ready for it at all.
How does the ladder work in Diablo 2: Resurrected?
- You create a new character for the ladder and try to reach level 99 as quickly as possible.
- You compete with other players in multiplayer mode.
- The character lasts only as long as the season does. After that, it is considered a normal character but retains its entire inventory.
- At the end of a season, a leaderboard is created that shows who has leveled up the fastest and gained the most experience.
However, the community fears that due to ongoing issues in the game, this ladder would not function properly.
These are the problems Diablo 2: Resurrected has: Since the release, there have been repeated server issues in Diablo. The server was either completely offline or players had trouble logging in successfully.
Diablo uses a queue to let people onto their servers to prevent them from being overloaded. Still, players complain that they have to wait more than an hour in line, only to be kicked out of the game because it crashes (via reddit).
Additionally, characters are reportedly not appearing on the selection screen in between.
“The 1st ladder season in Diablo 2: Resurrected will be a disaster”
Players have created a reddit post where they collect bugs and share their concerns about the ladder (via reddit). They also want other issues to be fixed first before the ladder is integrated.
There is reports of a bug that activates when you enter a new area. There, the character is registered by the game as active, even though you are still in the loading screen. You can be killed this way without being able to do anything about it.
This could actively affect the ladder and possibly frustrate players.
