Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will receive a new map this week: Nuketown. The legendary map will be playable in just a few days.
What is this discussion about the maps? Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launched with 16 different maps – 12 of which are called core maps, where regular 6v6 modes are played. However, many of these maps are not well received by the community.
Since the release of Black Ops 6, there have been numerous posts on social networks criticizing the design of various maps.
- One player writes on Reddit that the maps are depressing.
- Another finds on x.com: “I love Black Ops 6, but these maps are unforgivable.”
In another post on Reddit, a player recalls that Treyarch – the developers of Black Ops 6 – were known for making good maps. Now he notes: “The maps in BO6 are a big disappointment.”
The Return of a Legend
Which map is making a comeback? Treyarch announced that on Friday, November 1, 2024, Nuketown will be released in Black Ops 6 (via x.com).
Nuketown is a multiplayer map that was first released in Call of Duty: Black Ops (1) and has since been included in various games in the series in different variations. The map, similar to Shipment and Rust, is characterized mainly by its small size.
In the Call of Duty community, Nuketown has a sort of legend status, especially because the map is so small and plays quickly. Some players are already hoping for a 24/7 playlist where no other map but Nuketown will be played for a certain period (via Reddit).
Will Nuketown in Black Ops 6 be like it was before?
The Call of Duty community is still unsure whether Nuketown in Black Ops 6 will be as good as it was before (via Reddit). While the map is said to be implemented “cleanly,” the movement in the latest CoD is significantly faster than in previous installments.
Already with the current launch maps, there is a theory that the maps are not that bad. The movement is simply too fast for the small size of the maps. This makes the game chaotic or hectic, and Nuketown could feel the same with the new Omni-Movement.
On a small map like Nuketown, you will need a weapon that is particularly good for fights at short to medium distances. Currently, the submachine gun “KSV” is particularly recommended.
