Great anticipation for new fashion templates
What are players looking forward to? On r/Guildwars2, the largest subreddit for the MMORPG, fans are discussing the announced innovations. Anticipation is growing especially regarding the new fashion templates that the developers are bringing into the game.
- Fashion templates are supposed to work similarly to build and gear templates and allow players to save a template of visual elements from armor, back items, clothing sets, and colors.
- The new feature is coming for all players, regardless of whether they own the expansion or not. However, it is expected to be released in 2026, along with a major update for Visions of Eternity.
Many players are already looking forward to being able to save their outfit creations. Looking stylish on their adventures has always been a big part of Guild Wars 2. This feature is especially appreciated by players who like to experiment.

Disappointment with the elite specializations
However, many players feel disappointed with the new elite specializations. These were heavily celebrated by the developers with a countdown to the announcement, but now they don’t appear significantly in it.
- “I’m a little annoyed that [developer] ArenaNet used the elite specs as a countdown teaser for this announcement to generate hype, and then their role in the announcement was ‘there will be more info about them in the future’,” writes naivety_is_innocence on Reddit.
