What is Crowfall? Crowfall is not a typical MMORPG, as you are in dying campaign worlds that are eventually destroyed. In these worlds, you fight for resources that you need to continue expanding your Eternal Kingdom. PvP is the focus of the MMO, as you compete with each other in the campaign worlds.
What makes Crowfall special? In Crowfall, there is essentially no persistent world where you experience adventures. Although you own an Eternal Kingdom that can be seen as “housing”, adventures always take place in time-limited campaigns in ever-changing worlds. Hunger gradually consumes the worlds in the campaigns, and is supposed to create more tension and constantly set new accents. Thus, Crowfall has a hint of Battle Royale.
It relies on a lively community, whose conflicts and relationships drive and fuel the game. The developers often compare their game Crowfall to EVE Online or Game of Thrones.
What is the situation regarding the release?
What recent innovations have there been? Regular updates are released, bringing new features and slowly turning the MMO into the game it wants to be. Recently, for example, the day-night cycle was integrated, which significantly impacts the game world, such as the monsters you encounter.
A major rework of the graphic style and class selection in 2017 was the largest development in recent years.
How likely is a release? Crowfall is steadily moving forward and has found a European publisher in Travian Games. A release seems likely. A soft launch is also planned. There will not be a classic release.
Planned release: The soft launch of Crowfall is expected to start in 2019 – the developers are afraid of release. Crowfall is the indie MMORPG that is now expected to be the first to release. A recent video showed quite well that Crowfall is finally making progress. However, the launch has already been postponed several times.
