Are you grinding the new dungeon “Vespers Host” in Destiny 2 but can’t get the God-Roll for your desired weapon? You’re not alone. Many fans even go so far as to devise conspiracy theories, believing that Bungie is deliberately manipulating the system to force you into farming, but now the developers have clarified the issue.
What are fans complaining about? It’s about the perks that can be obtained on the new weapons from the dungeon “Vespers Host”. These weapons have no blueprints and thus cannot be crafted in the enclave. Fans are therefore reliant on their loot luck and have to grind for hours for their God-Roll.
Some guardians are now going so far as to formulate conspiracy theories. According to a X post by JpDeathBlade, some perks are supposed to be weighted, which could then influence your rolls from the respective drops. This means it should be much harder to obtain the God-Roll that many want.
The Global Community Lead of Bungie, dmg04, has been closely monitoring the discussions on X and Reddit and has now intervened to clarify for fans whether this is a bug, a hidden system from Bungie, or something similar.
No manipulation, your RNG is just bad
What has been revealed? The official Reddit account of Destiny 2 spoke internally with the sandbox team and asked whether such a system was implemented in Destiny 2. The team clarified after their investigation that such a system does not exist for legendary weapons. A focusing system for exotic class items is supposed to be in the works, but that has nothing to do with the current issues.
dmg04 then intervened in a similar Reddit thread where the issue was further discussed and Bungie’s response was debated. According to the Global Community Lead, Bungie double-checked the issue before addressing the community.
The team frequently conducts spot checks to locate and eliminate such bugs. However, in this case, nothing was found that indicates it’s an error. According to dmg04, this is simply bad RNG luck. Theories about Destiny 2 are welcomed, but he had to intervene when theories turn into facts that are incorrect.
What else are fans complaining about? Fans are unsure whether they can trust Bungie. Players are reporting a lie from 2017, where allegedly Bungie deliberately withheld XP points to encourage fans to play longer.
Even the community checked the case back then and found that something was off. Later, Bungie declared the case as a bug and fixed it. Whether one can trust Bungie now is unclear and is a decision everyone has to make for themselves.
Since these and other weapons cannot be built at all, it clearly shows that Bungie wants to keep its players engaged longer with grinding, but whether the plan will succeed is another matter. What do you think about the loot drops? Have you had your God-Roll yet or are you still farming? Feel free to share your experiences with the community.
