The June update in Lost Ark also brings a summer event where you can relax and dance on an island when you have had enough of the many adventures. However, fans are now complaining that they have to do so in armor and not in sexy bikinis. We at MeinMMO summarize.
Why are fans complaining? The June update in Lost Ark is actually quite well received by the Lost Ark community. The content is diverse, the bug fixes long awaited, and the “Quality of Life” adjustments a boon for every player.
But it wouldn’t be the community of an online game if there wasn’t still something to criticize. This time it revolves around the summer event in Arkesia, Heartbeat Island.
On the island, you can earn rewards by simply having a good time. To do this, you participate in events where you just need to be present or show off some dance moves in the disco on the vacation island.
However, you have to do the latter in full gear, as the sexy bikinis that were available for the event in Korea have not yet arrived in our version of Lost Ark.

What exactly are they criticizing? Primarily, it is the lack of immersion that is not well received by players. A reddit thread addressing the issue is titled “So we are dancing in heavy armor? That looks so out of place”, and receives a lot of support. It has already gathered over 540 upvotes and a total of 195 comments.
While fans mostly take it with humor, some are genuinely complaining about the lack of swimwear in the game. Especially since a range of such costumes were released in Korea simultaneously with the Heartbeat Island event. These mainly consist of particularly revealing outfits and ears that match the overall theme of Heartbeat Island. They shine in neon colors and scream “Party”.
Many fans are therefore envious of the updates in Korea and gradually lose hope in the patches for our version. Although there are also fans in the thread who explain that the skins and the shop are not directly related to the event and therefore did not have to be removed intentionally, the mood in the thread is clearly negative.
What do the fans say? The general sentiment towards the update is positive, so we want to focus in this article and in the quotes only on comments about the summer event. To give you an idea, we have prepared an excerpt for you (via reddit):
- Fenris writes: “Nothing beats a cozy day at the beach in full armor.”
- kingofranks says: “We will get the skins eventually; summer is still a while off. Don’t get so worked up.”
- Bewbii writes: “Great, instead we get the ugly Umar skins and are told to shut up.”
- Modawe writes: “Even if they didn’t intentionally cut the skins from the update, it’s still crap from them. They are intentionally holding back the costumes. I am losing hope for the July update.”
- TrueSol is annoyed: “Really, you’re upset about this? Dancing in armor? Shouldn’t we be fighting demons in inflatable plush costumes instead?”
- winteryu writes: “Just give me the bikinis already. My day is ruined.”
What do you think of the allegations? Do you agree with many in the thread that some complaints are exaggerated? Do you think the criticism about the release pace is justified? Or are you just happy about the June update and don’t understand what all the comments are about? Feel free to let us know here at MeinMMO.

Users are therefore upset that they once again receive fewer content than the Korean counterpart and are simultaneously disappointed that they have to dance in full armor.
“They went to the trouble of removing these skins”
Unfair release policy: In addition to the immersion breaks caused by dancing in heavy armor, there is again much criticism of the different release schedule for Europe and Korea. There are recurring discussions in reddit that patches for our version are allegedly being cut.
