Since the release of the no-building mode in Fortnite, the battle royale shooter has seen a significant increase. Shooter enthusiasts can now shoot freely with their friends, without relying on building. However, Ninja believes that the arena mode should retain building.
Who is Ninja? Ninja is one of the experts in Fortnite. With his breakthrough in the BR shooter, Ninja became one of the most successful Fortnite streamers ever. He has streamed a lot and has also participated in some tournaments, with his rival Tfue.
With his years of experience in Fortnite, Ninja is capable of forming a well-founded opinion on what benefits the battle royale and what could harm it. As the hype around Fortnite grew again and the no-building mode attracted Ninja back, he discussed further possible changes in Fortnite during his stream.
During this discussion, the topic of the arena in Fortnite came up and how it would cope with the further implementation of a separate mode without building.
No-building in the arena could cause problems
What does Ninja think about it? On May 4th, Ninja briefly addressed the topic of what consequences a change would have on the arena mode. He stated the following in his stream: “I don’t know if they (Epic Games) want to split their community so much, although there is a no-building and building solo, duos, trios, and teams […]”.
Not only would such an implementation in Fortnite, with its already numerous modes, divide the community, but it would also ensure that the hardcore pros would stick to one mode and then terrorize it.
However, Ninja also assumes that Epic will not dare to take this step towards division, adding the following: “I don’t think they want to do that. I wouldn’t do it if I were them; there literally aren’t enough players in the game to split the modes so drastically.”
Could Epic still split the arena? It is possible, but we also believe that Epic will not dare to take this step. The competitive playlists are a challenge and should not be accessible to everyone. Players train hard to reach the level of the hardcore pros.
A change would not only shake up the arena mode but also confuse the pros. Many cash cups, where high prize money is at stake, are based on the premise of being able to build extremely well.
What should e-sport players focus on in their training then if they can decide whether to build or not? A division would be the result.
What do you think about the idea that Fortnite could change and adjust the arena mode? Do you think the arena should retain building so that players have a challenge, or would you participate in the arena if there was no building? Let us know in the comments!
