On November 28, 2023, the first images of the new Fallout series were published exclusively on Vanity Fair. One of these images led to a conversation in a reddit thread about the weapon and equipment shown in the game series.
What is this Fallout series? The series is being produced by Westworld creators Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan and aims to complement the universe of the video game series with a new story.
It is about the young woman Lucy, who after a long time emerges from her underground vault to find a post-apocalyptic world full of dangers.

Yesterday, the entertainment website Vanity Fair published the first exclusive images from the series. On reddit, user u/nesatzuke posted one of the images.
Below, the community commented on the weapon shown, leading to an extensive exchange about the equipment in the well-known game series.
What are the reddit users saying? Under the image, fans positively comment on the weapon that is visible in the picture.
For example, WifiTacos writes: “Since this ‘assault rifle’ is damn massive, I assume they finally took the time to make it what it was supposed to be. A machine gun.”
Ponen 19 agrees, saying: “And it fits so much better with the Power Armor. That looks like the Lewis Gun it is based on.”
According to guto8797, the weapon also fits the person holding it: “In the lore, the Power Armor was not meant to catch bullets, but to support the wearer when carrying heavy weapons like rocket launchers, machine guns, miniguns, etc. So it fits [the weapon] well with a Power Armor wearer.”
